It looked like he sprayed bear spray, most of those dudes that play army all the time carry bear spray because they think it'll stop a bear so a human would drop immediately. That shyt has a lower concentration of capsaicin in it than peppery spray you can buy from CVS so it's not even effective like that, you definitely can fight through it before you start coughing.

Actual tear gas isn't the same as pepper spray. I had first hand experience with canister tear gas from being at the first George Floyd protests and pepper spray is the norm, club security would spray that. Tear gas actually burns like you feel like your choking from the phenacyl chloride in it, only way I can explain it like imagine constantly breathing ammonia.

He could've pistol whipped him though, even if he knocked the dude unconscious if he would catch a case it would be a battery but the mace sprayer would get an assault charge, incite panic, etc.
