Currently Egypt is worse than most of the Arab world... It's because of a bunch political shyt, but I'm not gonna get into that....

In ancient times... Well , as you see I put 'the West' and Asia. Egypt is in Africa... and African shyt varied. ... in Ancient times.... I guess they were considered 'equal' but in most cases they weren't when it came to how their families dealt with them..... Long before Islam or any of the religions we love to clown, the women in Ancient Egypt couldn't just go out and do shyt with out male family. They were equal in marriage, technically.... But they had to depend on men for everything and the trade off was just like it is now... the Men Had to take care of them.

I don't know if the people in here are trolling or not, but I don't actually believe that they think Islam is responsible for most of the shyt they don't like. And just like other ancient lands.. and modern Islamic (i pointed out above) and non islam lands..... even when women are lower in society, Woman leaders have always been considered equal... while the low classes are considered lower regardless of sex.

Yeah it's the same. But idk, I've smashed some Muslim women... you can't keep tabs on a human. It will be very hard for you and any of us to snap out of a Western Mindset , but from what I see it's not 2 billion people dead set on making women lives miserable... most of the woman are happy.... but the culture is focused on keeping women safe and protected... that idea started in Africa and has taken on a bunch of forms.

I don't think you can speak for everyone and say they all feel safe, there are times where I've been in a Muslim country even wearing islamic garb and never felt more scared in my life. It depends. The people who are supposed to "protect" you may very well be the very same people who violate you.

The religion isn't hard on women at all. Men share the heavy burden on running the family, spending of his wealth on all matters... a woman doesn't even need to spend her wealth on her family. She can own and inherit property.

Muslim men are intellectually handicapped and all these people in these countries want to focus on is a women's dress or what she's doing... when we have people starving, people can't find jobs, people are oppressed by tyrants, people in different conflicts... like really?

It's cultural. Look at Pashtunwali for example. Taliban courts wanted to use those tribal laws because Sharia is too liberal.

I've been to Islamic nations where I would assume a woman would feel unsafe (the American women in the group couldn't even do shyt w us), but I guess u just have to know the culture and nature of the area to know where to put the blame.... If it's Islam, then wow that's crazy because there have been films made about women being in worse condition in areas that aren't islamic... then That will lead to blaming the nature of africans or the nature of black people or the culture of All Asians.

There are all sorts of form of Shariah and other ideas that only exist to fuse that culture to Islam and make it relevant to that area. One reason women in the world are still treated like this is because anyone who could see that it's wrong miss the point of y it's like that in certain areas and so Nobody even Tries to fix it. So the women in those areas are forced to fight these battle on their own and form their own movements because the rest of the simple minded world, for the most part, spends their time on hating this idea or that idea.

It's not backwards breh, it's different. Islam doesn't forbid women from working and earning their own living and career.

They can work and whatever they earn is theirs alone, not their husbands, not their fathers, not their brothers. Even if she makes more than her husband, she is under no obligation from our religion to spend it on anyone. If she does, it is counted as zakat i.e. charity for her.

The Prophet worked for Khadija who made her own money and she had her own life. Obviously she's the gold standard but it's not like the Prophet married her and said "stay at home, woman!" she still did her thing.

Muslims abuse each other and it's because we don't take lessons from our deen man, so many nikkas are ignorant willingly when the books are right there, the history is readily available, etc

Muslims do a good job at abusing each other. My roots are Somali and I've seen this first hand in my community and obviously from my ancestoral homeland.

I'm not asking you to worship what we worship. You have your way of life and I have mine. I only wish people would read and ask their local Imams or Islamic scholars about their questions about the religion. Or befriend some cats that know it and teach it and put it in practice. No one's perfect obviously and Muslims need to make allies for common causes but charity starts at home and there's a huge void in building ourselves up together getting away from all these small issues like Hijabis on skateboards or women's clothing or men's beard lengths... like get it together people, we have bigger fish to fry that can help us socially and spirtually right outside our windows
