Islam was well established and spreading and Uthman took it upon himself to make sure that the Quran was only in Quraishi dialect only as the meanings would change because words would also change due to the different dialects of the regions that Islam was spreading to.

So what would Uthman be consolidating...if there was only one quran?

You obviously have no clue how this works. The Qurans verses were memorized because it was revealed orally. Everyone already knew the verses and could correct one another if they messed up. So please tell me how he got to decide the order when everyone already knew it? Go to any Islamic country they give out prizes for Quran memorization, people pride themselves on it. All Uthman did was make sure that no versions using non Quariashi Dialect existed since that was the original dialect it was revealed in... So HE DID NOT downsize he got rid of those versions altogether.

Sounds more like you're a troll. A simple search on your friend google will show you tons of results that show that the Quran was revealed and passed orally long before it was written down. That goes for historical accounts as well, they were also passed down orally in that region. When you pass shyt down orally it means you have to memorize it... when you have large groups memorizing things, you have people who can now pass it down to even larger groups and this allows it to be spread exponentially.
