1. Most 4th Gen M.2s will be usuable.
2. The 530 is Seagates special gaming series M.2s - its a straight finesse.
3. If you're not buying Crucial or Samsung, you're playing yourself.

I wouldn't buy anything until Sony says what drives will be compatible. they've said they have to be certified, and we don't know if they will somehow block those that aren't

That's a fair point but I'm personally going to take my chances and order another 2TB Samsung 980 Pro.

There's no certification needed. It's only a "meet the requirements" standard.
