Yeah I'm not feeling this shyt at all. Q was never the most lyrical, but I felt his rapping on here was super lazy, plus way too many pointless beat switches. The first quarter of the year has been ass so far. Q, Ye and Benny all dropped duds, and I'm a fan of all 3

I’m glad I listen to albums before I check threads now. I want to make sure I don’t get influenced by other posts so I like going in with my own perspective before discoursing art.

I’m glad im not the only :francis:

Didn’t like anything from the album.

I recommend playing it exactly the way it's sequenced in the Trailer (in the OP) at least once, I'm 90% sure it was intended that way initially, I fukk with it either way though.

Noticeable differences to me:

  • Less of a frantic feel
  • The Watts Prophets transition from Germany 86 to Foux was obviously intentional
  • Time Killers is dope but also feels likes it's building towards something and makes perfect sense going in to yeern101
  • Blue Slides is arguably too mellow to be so early in the album, Fits in nice this way imo.
+ Back n Love might've been added because it got a good reception, Doesn't feel like it's missing from the LP.

If anyone tries it this way I'd like to hear their feedback

He was honestly really rapping on some of those Setback tracks, production was wack in a handful of tracks, but he sounded way better than that generic shyt he was on during CT

I dont think people are forcing it..

Figg Get Da Money
Kamakaze
Light Years Ahead
What’s The Word
Cycle
Phenomenon
Fantasy
I’m Good
Bird & The Beez

All really good tracks

I agree this is worse than setbacks tho, I literally don’t care to listen to this album again
Ironically setbacks has my fav schoolboy q song on it.

Love the album but I don’t think it’s mixed well. Didn’t pass the whip test. I’ll try again later

This is being overrated because certain rap fans have been starving this year
no one is overrating this outside of the 100% stans and the dudes who only listen to "a certain type of rap", overall feedback seems pretty balanced, even those who like it are honest about some of its shortcomings or how/why it might not have the same appeal as his other projects

After 2 listens I like it alot… The production gets kinda experimental on some records but overall it’s cohesive. Some of the beat switches are abrupt but thats my only gripe so far … definitely better than his last album

I’m not feeling this album. The production and random rapping just don’t do it for me.
