I was optimistic going into this

Had to turn this off by track 10. Not feeling this album so far, it’s down there with setbacks as far as being his worst effort. Q doesn’t seem to have a vision for himself as a rapper at this point in his life, and I get he’s grown a lot, but this ain’t it.
For those who say all his albums are all over the place - they’re not, variety doesn’t equal being all over the place. This one is. What I didn’t like about Crash Talk was that it was derivative for an artist like Q to feel he needed to put himself in that trap lane, but the album was listenable. I’m not into a lot of the production on here and like others said, I can’t believe these are some of the features he chose to have instead of tapping into people he has had strong chemistry with. Even Foux is a let down - q and soul used to be like Meth and red on a track, big fun, this melancholy ass reunion
I’mma run it back in full, but so far

He said you could tell he’d only just started rapping on Setbacks, like he didn’t rap better on every setback track better than anything on Crash Talk

Uhh, I agree. Setbacks is his worst, but it’s closer to what TDE fans expect from TDE so people blindly force it. Q had no idea who he was as an artist on setbacks and it shows. However you feel about Crash Talk, Q’s identity was there. Now this album? I can understand why he might rate it so high given he’s in a much better place in life but this is worse than setbacks IMO
He was honestly really rapping on some of those Setback tracks, production was wack in a handful of tracks, but he sounded way better than that generic shyt he was on during CT

So many of those songs feel like Q doing an impression, a lot of his love for 50 cent comes through on those as well. All I can say is I agree with Q about setbacks, he lacked an identity and cohesion, he found himself and improved on H&C and gave us a classic
H&C and Blankface are tied at #1 for me
