They found out the big time boosters at BOTH schools had ties to the organized crime arm that's been strong-arming these casinos.

The NCAA found a trail they wanted no parts of and was like

I'm not even gonna throw shots at my SEC brehs because we all know this is the cost of business down here...part of the reason why I don't have a problem with this happening is because the NCAA is so hypocritical with its policy & policy enforcement and players don't get paid although they're making these school MILLIONS. Let the young brehs & their fam eat... so I'm not gonna feign outrage over this.

BTW, if the NCAA made this system legal, I think it could be beneficial to the NCAA, the schools & players

Exactly.

Lotta folks get the booster-to-athlete pipeline mixed up with the school-to-athlete pipeline.

The Universities may not be paying kids & cutting corners........but that doesn't mean the players aren't being taken care of.

Go back & read the article. One of the boosters said 100% of the 5 stars get paid in some capacity, and the smart boosters don't even bother getting to know the coaches.

This keeps the schools out of legal trouble if the shyt hits the fan.
