He's surely not getting it from any other sports network. Their personalities are having to take paycut themselves. Theoretically he could get that asking price from those networks that you mentioned IF they were involved in sports.

I'd be rather pissed if I were him or any other sports personality. ESPN already came asking for 2-3 month reduction in pay a while back and now they are asking for them to take one again. Especially if I just recently signed an extension with more job duties. At the end of the day though, the mouse runs things and ESPN has to do what is asked.
Fox would cut 90% of their network to get SAS, Skip and Shannon together.

That's because MNF used to be the premier prime time NFL game and ESPN fukking ruined the brand. I remember when SNF first got presented as an option and everyone going WTF, but NBC turned it into a more valuable property. ESPN tanked MNF with all of their ESPN bullshyt. They're just bad at producing NFL games and NBC is just better at producing live sports (Their olympic coverage is dope af too).
I remember watching Sunday Night games on ESPN with Joe Theisman after NFL Primetime though back in the 90s and early 2000s.

ESPN got gassed because they were printing money in the late 90s and 2000s, and switched MNF from ABC to ESPN in 2006...thinking it’d be safe there in the long run. They also gave up SNF in the process, along with Al Michaels in a trade and NBC took it and blew it out the water once cord cutting started in the early 2010s and Thursday Night Football came into play.

MNF games just have bad matchups. Patriots-Jets won't do ratings like Chiefs-Ravens did earlier in season. If MNF games were flexed it would help the product. Sunday Night usually get best matchups and games.

This gotta sting espn brass

Ley is beloved there

I actually was on a zoom with him this past summer. Very low key humble dude

I’m sure it does, but at the end of the day Disney runs things and they have to do what they say. They are having their own set of layoffs, so eventually they were going to come ESPN and ask them to do some as well.
