Wingo still hasn't gotten on anywhere. He started his own podcast. I haven't heard it though.

He’s had some side gigs since leaving ESPN like doing the draft coverage for Fox Sports digital, but no one hasn’t given him a long term deal yet. I know he wanted to go to NFL Network, but even Prime left after they wanted him to take a pay cut. Always found the no on air role for him as an excuse to get rid of Wingo as they managed to do so for other talents that they wanted to keep (Bomani and Nolan.)

Even then, they had to take pay cuts, so I’m not sure why Mayne was against doing so as well.

Side note: I always thought it was ironic that the Golic family gave Greeny so much shyt for putting Golic without a role at the network when Golic Jr did the same thing a couple of years later lol.

That's because MNF used to be the premier prime time NFL game and ESPN fukking ruined the brand. I remember when SNF first got presented as an option and everyone going WTF, but NBC turned it into a more valuable property. ESPN tanked MNF with all of their ESPN bullshyt. They're just bad at producing NFL games and NBC is just better at producing live sports (Their olympic coverage is dope af too).

This is 100% true.

MNF was damn good with Al Michaels, Dan Dierdorf and Frank Gifford on ABC. Once that crew broke up, it started going downhill and then moving to ESPN seemed to make it worse.

By comparison, ESPN had SNF and it wasn't really that big until NBC got it. Common denominator is ESPN sucking.

When MNF decided to put Dennis Miller in the booth it hasn't been the same since.

Off topic, but could you imagine if this were to air today and the reactions it would get :pachaha:
