Yep knees still feel great and actually my quads are kind of on fire now. Bye bye platform and back squats

Trying to think how I progressed on each lift

  • Squats- back squats aggrated my knees but front squats seem to be OK. I hit 220x8 last summer but I had to fix my form and I'm back up to 215.
  • Bench- got up to 245x6 and 215x9 but way too much fukking arch. Back down to ~230x6 & ~195x9 but with new form
  • Weighted chins- way up... I was doing ~200-210 on lat pulldowns and now I'm doing body weight + 20... wait, that is just like 225 :francis:
  • Military press- way up- like 15-20lbs
  • RDL- up 20lbs
This bulk was mainly about fixing form it looks like. I'm OK with that.

Thinking about physique... man I am starting from such a better place with this cut than last year. 15lbs lighter, only *slightly* less strong. Here is where I was when I started my cut last time at damn near 220lbs:

Just laying out my lift benchmarks here officially as of 12/25/2014

Bench: 215x9, 235x6
S Press: 125x9
Lat pulldowns: 220x10
Squats: 285x8

Like I said I changed form a lot on bench so that's down but not far off (easy 195x9 + 230-235x6). Seated shoulder press is now military press which is a LOT harder and I'm doing about the same weight/reps plus some heavy shyt (140x5). Lat pulldowns.... I was def stronger. Lat pulldown machine at my new gym sucks, only goes to 200. But I like weighted chins more. Doing about the same in total weight. Squats... I was hitting 280x8 on back squats but my knees started screaming. I am just going to fukk with front squats for now.

So yea it is looking good. Last year I started at 218 and got down to 188 with less cardio than I am doing now. This year I'm starting at 200, leaner and stronger than I was at 200 last year. If I can get down to 180 and stay under 190 through the next bulk I will be ecstatic. Then the year after hopefully I can cut down to like 175 and stay under 185. Long term goal is to stay under 185 indefinitely. Not going to be easy though :francis: Not looking forward to this cut at all but I'm a lot less nervous about it. Knowing what to expect is huge.

Hit upper body last night with heavy bench. Went OK, I think. I might have taken my butt off the bench. I hit 6x230,235 and 230. One good thing is now I know I can do all my workouts at home. I was skeptical about heavy bench even though I had done it a few times.

I really need to get on the ball about selling shyt off. I have like $600 worth of equipment ready to go

Had a less than great legs/shoulders workout last night. Strangely now things are reversed. I feel pretty comfortable doing bench whenever, but legs and shoulders takes the wind out of me. Gotta keep that one for lunch time. Hit 215x8,8,4 on front squats and like 120x9,9,5 on military press. Just didn't have the edge and I was still suffering the itis from dinner. Maybe next time I gotta have dinner after? Thinking I might drop down to 205 and 115 for front squats and military press for the cut. No need to push, we are just trying to hold on

Also like I said in the random thoughts thread.... missing my fiber had me :flabbynsick: Really surprising how quick that shyt tightens me up

Calculating my macros for this cut..... from the spoils of luxury to the depths of poverty :mjcry:

No easing in this time, we are gonna start off pretty aggressive. 2100kcal/day. This time around I'm definitely utilizing the slow cooker. Gonna use the hell out of it actually. Only way to make all that lean meat tolerable. Should be a fun adventure.

Hit CAB today. Went regular. No complaints. 3x9x195 on bench went up easy, no butt lift. I hope I can lock in 3x9x205 before April 3rd.... D-day :to: Got to pay the cawse to be the bawse

Daylight savings killing me again

Wow, only 2 weeks left before I start the cut. This is going to be hella interesting. Gonna ride tonight and try to get to bed early. I made my chicken stew for the week so I should be OK. Still need some slow cooker recipes though

CAB went OK. 3x6x230 on flat bench went up easy. If I feel as good as I did today I'm gonna try for 3x6x235 next week. *Hopefully* that will be the baseline on my cut, otherwise I will be starting my cut benching exactly what I was on the last one :snoop:

Next bulk I will definitely be more aggressive about adding poundage. Took me a minute to get back in the game from my last cut.

Chest arms back today. Please God do not let this elbow tendonitis be an issue :sadcam: Got a twinge while doing tricep pushdowns. Been going a little heavy AND high reps (was hitting 85 for 5 sets of 12). Gonna see how 3x15x75 feels on Tuesday

Also gonna dead squatting 2x/wk now, replace that with a 3rd ride. Rode last night outside.... :whew: Kicked my ass brehs. Gonna stick to riding outside and hopefully ride faster. Avg heartrate was way up so I don't think I need to go for the full hour. We will see.

Did a deload workout. Tried to GVT body weight chins and dips. Just as many sets of 10 as I could get off. I think I did like 8 of each. That pump was crazy. Started seeing chest striations :whoo: :takedat:

I think my elbow is OK again. Still gonna be careful on tricep pushdowns. Just do 75 for sets of 15 instead of 85 for sets of 12, with strict strict form. Gonna try and ride tonight as well. Hoping it will be warm enough for me to ride outside.

Got the flu, haven't been eating much since this weekend but I'm getting better bit by bit. Obviously haven't done shyt in the gym.... real talk the cut's prob gonna have to start in May :to: See how bad the damage to my strength has been.
