I think this is fitting for this thread. MA State Rep warns illegal immigrants about upcoming ICE raids.

See this is the real issue.

Many undocumented immigrants simply get caught up in the prison system where they are forced to work for low to no wages. The reality is that this is new slavery.

Thousands of ICE detainees claim they were forced into labor, a violation of anti-slavery laws

I don't agree with the Democrat solution on this however. I do think these immigrants need to be given work visas so they are 1) put on a time limit for use in the country 2) not exploited by employers and governments who use them for cheap labor.

You're trying to argue that black people should care because local policing will rise if cities don't declare themselves sanctuaries for illegal immigrants.

Saying police encounters will rise is not the same as saying the sole reason for police encounters is immigration policy. Again stop playing dumb

Your argument of do you want more or less is silly because the protections provided illegal immigrants don't directly affect black people so regardless to those protections overpolicing of the black community will exist.

First off plenty of "black" people are immigrants. Second you are missing the point. There are no "protections"

The debate is about whether local police authorities should act as enforcers for the federal agency by increasing random encounters and checking people's citizenship. Increased police encounters will undoubtedly harm black people. Doesn't matter what's going on now. We are talking about an increase or no.


So again. If you don't think more police roaming the streets would be a negative for black people. Then I don't know what to tell you

It's such a bleak, harsh view of humanity as a whole, when you encounter people with the kinds if viewpoints expressed in this threads, which are not uncommon, and you realize, this is how large contingent of those in power view the country, and the world......A selfish, cold, "practical" outlook of entitlement, privilege, and contempt.

I don't come from an affluent or even middle class family, and I can't claim to be a millionaire, or even 500k in assets, but I have mine, and I am ashamed, when I see the less fortunate, from cashiers, to waitresses, Uber drivers, and of course many of the immigrants, legal or not. I am ashamed and embarrassed for just the sheer inequality, how can I look away, and not try to help when I can?

Which country you happen to be born with citizenship in has to be the most arbitrary fukking thing to draw a moral line around ever. Some folk born in Haiti and some born in Mississippi. To say, "I give a shyt about you and want you to get work and feed your family...but not you."

Two some Latin American immigrants are indistinguishable from American black people.

Three, border agents are actually actively looking for Africans crossing from Mexico.

Only way to achieve this is to give them all citizenship
