Bro go watch FDTD with fresh eyes and report back. It’s a nikka named Sex Machine with a gun crotch. These two movies aren’t even in the same stratosphere of seriousness.

:mjlol:

Clooney’s character was written one note af. I wouldn’t even know he’s a decent actor if this was the only film I saw of him.
It's a Taratino film. That's his Schick.

Coogler is a try hard. Always have been and a fraud. He never researches shyt outside his Cali shyt. I can write a movie and direct film better than him.

One thing I didn't get was, initially Stack made it seem like he couldn't get thru the door of the room he was killed in.

I don't recall anyone ever inviting him to the main room.....so how was he able to break thru the door and enter?

I think he was trying his luck of talking his way out. When it didn’t work he just went “fukk it” and hit stick’d the door.

I don’t think his vampires have to ask permission for every doorway.

Yea, that’s what I figured. He was already in the main / overall building, so no barriers for him.

The initial reluctance to go thru the door was probably just to provide the audience that conversation and/or see if he could get them to voluntarily succumb to him/them.

And now that I think of it, since it’s kinda like a hive…if Stack got them to invite him in from the inside, maybe that would’ve worked for the rest of the hive outside to get in as well.

My sister was pointing out a correlation to immolation of the Asian characters in here to the Buddhist Asians that immolated themselves partly in defiance to Christian rule trying to take over Vietnam.

Wasn’t quite sure about that….but what I did get from the Asian chick’s semi-rant/speech was Radio Hanoi vibes.

That’s a good point. I was wondering if a vampire can invite another vampire inside, but since it didn’t happen then I assume it’s not possible.

It’s one of the few pieces of media where I wasn’t really that pissed that the group of survivors let the malcontent stay around. And my crowd didn’t really get to screaming at the screen until after (that person) does the thing. It’s clear that everyone just loved each other too much to do the logical thing.

I don't like some parts of the ending but i should've seen it coming. i thought they were gonna have dude invent guitar gospel music since he's a preacher's son.
Felt like Coog had the timeskip and post credit in mind before he had the ending to the main timeline. Bit jarring of a transition but nothing overt

I think the overall experience was a 5/5, but I do think there was enough Patrice moments that were kinda…whatever…to where it’s prob really a 4.5.

I think if it’s a 3 hr movie, it’s probably flawless. There wasn’t enough time to explore the spiritual aspect past the couple times the baby mama gave it to us + a ton of subtext. But there’s definitely 5+ mins of cutting room floor material about the Natives and past moments the head vamp had with music

Breh, what did Ryan Coogler do to you?
This is a safe space, you can tell us.
He destroyed Tchalla Mythology and gave us bullshyt in its placement. I will never forgive him for destroying the Black Panther franchise and mythology. fukk him.

The difference in the energy between her interviews with Shameik and her natural chemistry with MBJ its hilarious to see.
