Watching John Oliver tonight and Trent Lott came up for being a massive pos regarding criminal justice back in the day and I figured I would see what he was up to lately

In December 2007, he co-founded the Breaux-Lott Leadership Group, a "strategic advice, consulting, and lobbying" firm together with former Louisiana Senator John Breaux.[30][31][32] The firm was later acquired by law and lobbying firm Patton Boggs,[33] now Squire Patton Boggs following the June 2014 merger with Squire Sanders. In September 2014, lobbyist filings revealed that Lott was contracted to advocate on behalf of Gazprombank, a Russian majority state-owned bank targeted with sanctions over the 2014 pro-Russian unrest in Ukraine.[34] Lott was fired by Squire Patton Boggs in June 2020; no explanation was provided for his departure.[35]

If anything, the attraction of NATO to Eastern European nations is the ultimate end result of generations of Russian/Soviet imperial expansion.

USSR/Russia spends decades imposing its will on its neighbors (yes, I know why they felt they had to do it). Once the fetters came off, said neighbors found it advantageous to take precautions against Russian imperialist aggression (that's one leopard who's not going to change its spots); and people are surprised by this? People are offended that the Poles, Latvians, etc. don't want to be Russia's bytch? fukk outta here.
