I know Putin is conflating the shyt outta the neo-Nazi thing to create a false pretense but it ain’t like there aren’t tiny elements of truth to the fact that there is definitely a neo-Nazi presence in Ukraine and that was evident even during the Maidan protests.
Certainly not to the extent that Putin is making it out to be but these the same mothafukkas that were hootin and hollerin and lining up to collaborate when the Nazis rolled in. Granted, Stalin/Holodomor was probably the biggest reason for it but still says something. Perhaps neo-Nazism ended up being a more extreme expression of Ukraine nationalism as a pushback to Russia given how much WWII is celebrated. Speculative on my part but an interesting question to dive into in the Russia/Ukraine history thread….
