Ukraine is fukkd in 2024.

Their only hope is Putin dying, leading to a wholesale revision of its foreign policy/military objectives. Otherwise they'll have wait it out, and pray for a Democratic sweep in November.

Russia has oriented their society around a war based economy. They don't mind losses bc their manufacturing industry is working nonstop replenishing.

Even more dangerous are the reports a couple days ago about the US and others envisioning need for negotiations. Even if that doesn't affect Biden/US/EU willingness to continue helping Ukraine, it will hurt efforts to continue isolating Russia from world economy etc. A lot of countries that really don't want to take sides but maybe were afraid of defying the US/EU are going to point to these stories as justification for a willingness to reengage w/ Russians.
