Meaning they spend less, but in the areas that they are powerful in, is to counter any technological advancement the U.S has. The U.S being offensive means it needs to COME to Russia....Russia is fully prepared for it. Every time a new aircraft carrier is built, Russia creates a cheap effective missiles that can annihilate it. Every time we make a plane, Russia creates radar that can detect it. i live near a car plant and during war it was changed up to build military sh1t. i can trust germans got that work cause of the quality of their cars. and germans top the world's best engineers. and expatriate a lot of their engineers to the US.

we just don't seem to see anything from the russians in the world stage. even just on the consumer lvl. consumer lvl can give a hint on what are country can do...

i saw russia and china true colors when they voted against libyan war but barack and nato went in anyway and they just acted like they didn't want any part of it.
i think if they were so bad they'd move units to all these countries and defend them because it's a threat to their national security too. but they do nothing.

The newest U.S. carrier will cost $13 billion. Add roughly 60 aircraft, 6,700 sailors, and other vessels to support and protect it, and a single U.S. carrier strike group costs roughly $6.5 million a day to operate.

This is how much Russia spends, to take out such a carrier.

S-400 --Cost--$8 million per missile
