From what I heard he's already lost 12 lbs on this diet.

So chances are most of the people in this thread don't know what they're talking about. There's a reason this guy is famous for his diet/exercise regiments. He's not just some random coli trainer.

He either has a monster workout schedule as a NFL player burning over half of the 4800 calories he consumes; he's not clean (PEDs);or Wilson is lying. It's that simple. If you eat 4800 calories you'll grow to 300- 400 pounds soon enough. Just go research it anytime.

Yea if you want to dumb it down but what's going to keep you satiated longer, 1000 calories in 2 slices of pizza which is mostly bread and carbs or 4 chicken breasts and a couple of servings of veges? And which is going to have you hungrier and eating more throughout the day

Eating healthy is about getting more bang for your buck for those 1000 calories you consume, that simple

The crux of your post is true that 1000 calories from salubruious sources like chicken and veg will keep one satiated longer. That said, like @Bay Area says, calories are in a way still calories.

I've heard of guys losing weight eating 20 chicken nugget meals at McD's @ 1000 calories and something else later.

no, you wont. if you burn more calories than you consume, you will lose weight. doesnt matter whatsoever how many that number totals

Normal sedentary people can't burn away 4800 calories. Most guys who lift will not lose weight at that level. Only guys who lift everyday or else do high intensity workout can. For everyone else, calories will end up as fat.

you dont fukking say. you can eat whatever you want, if you burn more calories than you consume you will lose weight. wilson loses weight doing this with caloric intake nearing 5k, because he burns enough off

Wilson is an athlete who likely does high intensity work everyday. I know Gronk lifts everyday for at least an hour as part of practice. Most of us don't do such workout to burn off 5k calories. This is all I'm saying.

What you are saying is just not correct. For my lifestyle, my maintenance caloric intake is around 2200-2400 calories per day if Im moderately active. Furthermore, on my more intense workout days, I've burned 1000+ calories, and I'm sure my workout pales in comparison to what professional athletes do.

So even if he eats 4500 calories but burns 2000+ calories in his workouts, he could still be at a deficit and losing weight. Furthermore, what types of proteins and carb and fats you eat will make a difference as well. The simple well known example is simple carbs vs. complex carbs. All calories are not created equal. So if he's eating foods that are better for muscle development, this is going to help his body work more efficiently to burn calories.

Futhermore, a LOT of people eat that much on a daily basis

Lets say, you eat

2 eggs, bacon, toast

Starbucks coffee with cream no sugar

Turkey club sandwich with avocado

Can of sprite

Some almonds

Caesar salad with gnocci and chicken for dinner

1 beer

A very normal eating day

Im gonna look up to see what that is

  • Breakfast = 650 calories
  • Coffee with cream = 55
  • Lunch and sprite = 690
  • 1/4 cup almonds = 162
  • Caesar = 130 calories
  • Stella artois = 174
  • Gnocchi with meat sauce = 335
  • Bread with oil and herbs = 200 calories
Thats 2400 right there with no cookies, no chips no frappachinos, no french fries, one beer, just regular ass eating.

shyt adds up quick. im not big on breakfast, its either a banana or a yogurt if i even eat it, and still get over 2k calories quite easily without even counting in beers/whisky. i feel just as hungry at lunch when i eat breakfast as i do when i skip it so it just feels like empty calories. but yea if you get on myfitnesspal and track a weeks worth of everything you put into your body youd be surprised at the calorie totals most people would have, which obviously is why theres a lot of people who weigh more than they should. they dont burn enough its as simple as that. i dropped weight without even exercising more by just seeing what i was eating, those apps make it very easy to see what youre eating and what you need to be at to lose x amount of weight in x amount of time
