I’m curious do you guys think Rusev is the 2020 Ryback? Had a spark when he started and now he garbage. Rusev was talked about as the most in demand free agent when he got cut. Then he signed with nobody. Not AEW or Impact or NJPW. Even Noway Jose got signed before him. Do you think he believed his own hype and thought Tony Khan would throw the bag to him that he played himself by staying home playing video games? @Art Barr brought up a great point. He doesn’t have a single memorable match. Not one in my opinion. What was his standout feud? Against Dolph?

I have never been big on Rusev tbh. It's the gimmick that totally kills it for me, he's a fine worker though. I despise "proud of my nation" gimmicks in the 2000s, and he grew on me a little bit with the Lashley storyline, but that shyt fizzled out. He doesn't really have insane charisma, so I can't really see him as carrying a main event in any company, but he would be a decent mid-carder who is reliable.

im still hoping he can become a star out of all of the bunch. FTR is looking like some regular guys so it's kinda whatever for them for the time being. All the people who went to Impact RIP. Rusev might still have a chance but it just depends on where he signs and how he's booked. He should go to AEW and immediately destroy Cody and become the TNT champion or go right after Moxley. He has to win though. Give Miro the AEW strap and let him hold onto it for a year until Kenny is ready or some shyt. Make it feel like it's worth something.

Rusev is a guy who can step away for 1-2 years and come back as the champ. The crowd would go fukking crazy if Rumble 2023 you hear "It's Ruuuseeev Daayyy" This could be the best thing to happen to him in a while. Allows for a character rejuvenation. No matter where he goes he's going to get that push right out of the gate.
