Yea, now that I am thinking about it more, that is rubbing me the wrong way. Just give me hardware emulation man.

I don’t mind the service, but it shouldn’t be the only way to play old games. Especially not ps1 games. I got a binder full of games.

I should be able to play them as is, on ps5

offer trophy support, convenience and higher fidelity emulation as an incentive to do the service instead.

And the dopest part is this service already has more subscribers than gamepass

Are y’all actually reading the full article? No where does it say it will have day one PS5 games. This is not a gamepass competitor. It’s basically Sony merging their psnow and psplus into one subscription. That’s pretty much it

Pass. Maybe when they add day one games. Don't need a subscription service to play legacy titles only when I already own a lot of them. Every other subscription service in media of any real value constantly adds newly created content to it.

This sounds like them adding online multiplayer to PS Now and rebranding it.

Sony is positioning themselves to be able to pivot in any direction the wind blows, thats how they’ve managed to stay the dominate brand for almost 30 years. If they eventually find that they stand to make more money releasing their games day 1, they can do it, but that won’t happen anytime soon

Are Netflix movies free when you pay their subscription price? No.

Sony is worse than Disney. Imagine if Disney+ was just Disney rationing out legacy content.

I get they don't want to do what needs to be done but it needs to be done. Subscription services are about paying a monthly fee for new and legacy content. It's up to them to figure out how to get the business model to work but at the end of the day that's what people want. They want Spotify and Netflix rather that buying individual pieces of content at prices that keep going up.

The funniest part is all the gamepass addicts swarming talking about, “no day 1 first party lol’ like you know deep down their lives would be over if sony actually did that. They probably had a heart attack thinking about not being able to scream gamepass anymore
