The thing is that sony really doesn’t have to directly compete with microsoft with this service, they jsut gotta make it more attractive for playstation owners. They are already the market leader, they’re not at the point of just throwing a bunch of 1st party multi-million selling games at people.
I’ll bring it back to disney again. Their movies make billions of dollars in the box office on their own, theres no incentive for them to put them on a streaming service for free. Netflix on the other hand spends a lot of money to make money, they aren’t gonna make 2 billion dollars off a movie, they have to throw everything they got into that service and its costly. They aren’t generating record breaking profits from it like disney is with their set up
Most people here even the people who have verbally stated they hate sony already have a playstation. They will already be on the platform for the exclusives alone, this is just another incentive to increase ps plus subscriptions which is already at 50m
Ps now wasn’t doing much on its own but combined with psplus? It makes both services far more appealing
