He’d have signed by now
Jordan has made it clear they will do everything they can to resign him i would guess the reason they haven't extended him yet is for cap flexibility incase they make some type of trade.

This is an ugly trade, I can't defend LeGM on this if true. Got to imagine that guys are making up rumors to make Rich Paul look bad or the Wizards are making up crap to try to inflate Wall's trade value.

HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?

It depends on what you consider a max. Lakers could sign someone like Kawhi/Klay/Middleton to a $32 million contract in the offseason, then they have $6 million or so in cap space to sign someone else, along with the MLE and the bi-annual exemption.

Then in 2019-20 you have Anthony Davis who is only going to be making $27 million, so you need to get to $22 million. You could make a trade for him that involves some combination of Ball ($9 million), Ingram ($7 million), any of the guys I just mentioned that they could sign in summer 2019, and Kuzma/Hart/Moe ($2 million each). The Lakers could get there easily.

Not saying it'll happen, but it's definitely possible if one of the guys is in their first max post-rookie.

He said sign a guy in the summer, and THEN the trade, so it's possible.

I've already been pointing out to people that the "trade first, then sign" or "sign two guys" options don't make much sense unless one of those signings is pretty cheap.

Rich can try what ever he wants if I’m the Lakers I try to get Beal...Wizards are stuck with Wall if they expect a fair deal in return.
