Again Bethesda Followed up with a GOAT game like Skyrim after Fallout 3

Obsidian made Outer Worlds..... 10 years later

Bethesda learned and improved from Oblivion to Fallout 3 to Skyrim. Fallout 4 felt like drop in quality tho but it was a good run.

Obsidian made a forgettable product with Outer Worlds, in 10 YEARS they learned nothing

Obsidian based whole DLC's on 1 person (lonesome road, honest hearts) and nobody gave a fukk

Watch them do it again with Outer Worlds and later Avowed

People are going to still buy it. Not that many games are made like these type of RPG's, so people won't be picky, but they gonna drop it after a couple days

We might even have a new Nintendo console by then. More importantly, the PS5 should be in its stride by then. Usually the huge blockbuster games that people remember come in the middle or latter half of the generation, so if they don't have games that could compete with those...

2020 ain't half over and the country spinning wildly out of control. The audacity to try and sell a dream of three years from now but expect sales in November like there's any guarantee Microsoft doesn't put some of these games on ice and some of these studios on unemployment

That being said, we not gonna sit here and slander F:NV like it wasn't easily the better Fallout game. I'm not going to argue semantics with nikkas about what was better as a shooter or a first person whatever. In terms of what constitutes a Fallout game beyond just happening in the post-apocalypse with 50s imagery... it wasn't even close. Why? Because the people who made Fallout made F:NV, not F3.

That being said... by the time this shyt comes out, I can't see people giving a shyt about an open-world fantasy game like that. Especially not on console and not from a company that has been as inclusive to the point of excess with modding as Bethesda has been. People out here acting like Skyrim still gets spins in vanilla format. fukk no. Vanilla Skyrim is, objectively, a 6/10 game right now at absolute best with stannery turned to max. What makes it a game that lived a decade was mod support. And unless Obsidian feels like making a platform instead of a game - because that's what Bethesda games are - it's not gonna make waves like that. Obsidian actually cares about heir properties and given it's in the Pillars universe, they won't be able to pass up a chance to continue fleshing out that world. Which is great. Awesome. But to think it'll be their Skyrim when Skyrim isn't even a game, it's a mod utility that lets people make their own game their way... nah.

I'm gonna play, for sure. Doubly so if they can get a bit of the Tyranny world in that bytch. Tyranny is the best POE-related thing they've done, simply because it actually leaned in to it's concept of the villains winning and made it work through gameplay and not just storyline. If they can get some of that in there, I could see this being a great RPG. But it's gonna go the way of Outer Worlds and be cool a while and then get shelved, because Obsidian for better or worse is a games company, and they'll make a good game.

BGS doesn't make games. They make the HD version of RPG Maker.

Hell for all we know Bethesda/Zenimax may continue to milk Elder Scrolls Online and keep pushing back Elders Scrolls 6. Same way Rockstar is milking GTA Online and taking their sweet time with GTA 6.
