Coulnd't agree more.

Showed how much fear controlled the people.

That was a small attack from an amateur and it shut down the whole city, imagine if you had another 9/11 like scenario.

9/11 was completely different since the perps died in the act

and again, the city was not locked down directly because of the bombing

I don't mean the type of attack, just the type of hysteria that came from 9/11.

And the willingness of the city to be on lock down was amazing to me. Fear ruled Boston for days

I'm sayin though, a big part of the "hysteria" in Boston was the fact that the suspects were still on the loose. and it really stepped up when they were shooting cops, car jacking, throwing bombs out the car, etc

Do you live in Boston? As a Boston resident what made me uneasy was having transit police outside subways with SMGs, unidentified LEOs in military fatigues on subway platforms, state-troopers on every corner, SWAT members all over the TD Garden/ North station area, getting frisked entering certain public areas, getting "wanded" multiple times at work and seeing bus loads of men in military fatigues with police escorts heading from Logan airport.

All these experiences happened from the bombing until the manhunt, I did not leave my apt. during the manhunt because work was cancelled and the subway did not have service. Meanwhile I live in a lower income area and as soon as I would get off the subway after work my anxiety level would decrease dramatically because there was no hysteria in my neighborhood. Just people playing soccer in the park, hanging out and just going about their lives.

I don't live in Boston. I'm sure there was a strong police and military presence right after the bombing. I'm just talking about how Ron Paul frames it like "there were only 3 people killed, and they locked down the whole city!"

and like I said earlier

personally I wouldn't want to go outside with a bunch of hair-trigger cops and military peeps walking the streets

it reminds me of the Dorner shyt where the cops shot at the lady delivering the newspapers

Didn't they let off like 70 shots and all sorts of crazy shyt while he was hiding in the boat and it turned out he wasn't even armed? Nothing good comes out of a huge build up of armed police offers anywhere.

I just quoted you because you were talking about the reason for the hysteria in Boston when I had a different experience.

Yes, this is true. The media didn't even touch it because they had such a feel good story. I'm curious to know what the fukk all that gunfire was aimed at.

If you have seen the videos, it's clearly a heavy barrage of fire.

True...frankly I dont see how this is anything but a win from the terrorists standpoint. They dont do this to cause damage with the actual act but with what happens after the fact. A major US city on lockdown because a skinny lil 19 year old is on the loose? If that aint a win for the terrorists I dunno what is. What would happen if it was a team of hardcore taliban lookin niccas that carry out the next one? Lock down the whole state? Country?

fukk all that whose in ur avi :steviej:

Imma have to roll with Herr Braun Paulus on this one... the response was utterly terrifying... mufukkas came in some futuristic hoopties with the cannons on the top :dead:

Motherfukkers had better equipment than I had in a warzone.

Props to the Government man, they circumvented the prohibition of Armed Forces actively conducting operations on home soil. They built up these police forces to behave in the same ways that the military does, with better equipment in some cases.

I :salute: the goonery of the government and :scusthov: for us letting it happen because of "Safety".

What's crazy is how actually ineffective a militarized police force is in preventing just about anything except for dissent. If you look at Mexico, they have the military doing police work in fighting the cartels, and that would probably constitute the most militarized response to a criminal organization in the world, and it is utterly useless. It's clear a more surgical approach is far more effective than this purposely intimidating and obvious show of force by the government.
