What's crazy is how actually ineffective a militarized police force is in preventing just about anything except for dissent. If you look at Mexico, they have the military doing police work in fighting the cartels, and that would probably constitute the most militarized response to a criminal organization in the world, and it is utterly useless. It's clear a more surgical approach is far more effective than this purposely intimidating and obvious show of force by the government.

For sure. This very thread proves that.

You had a lot of posters in here advocating the shelter in place because they feared being indiscriminately shot by the police. :dead:

That's not the military, that's the Boston PD. The increased militarization of local-level police is a cause for concern.

good thing all the other variables stayed indoors :whew:

:whew:

Good thing that the government lifted their temporary martial law order, otherwise that man might have not alerted them to the presence of the suspect or might have been arrested for stepping outside of his house.

That coward was hiding in a boat in someone's backyard because he couldn't go anywhere else due to the law enforcement presence. If they didn't shut shyt down, he'd be running on foot in the woods somewhere or in a stolen getaway car, not cowering in a backyard boat.

Negative young man. Straight assumption on the part of Vic.

We know the hid in there because he was wounded from the night before and had NO weapon.

Tsarnaev hid on the boat after nearly a day on the run and was eventually arrested last Friday, after an order for Watertown residents to stay in their homes was lifted. A homeowner found blood on his boat and then spotted Tsarnaev inside.

He had no weapons and was wounded.

Don't know if you realized this, but when the suspects saw their pictures posted by the FBI, they went ahead to commit more violence, not run away.

How is that assumption? If there wasn't a heavy police presence that had barricaded the town off, he would be laying in someone's boat in their backyard?, lol. He would've done what every other fugitive does...run. There's reasons to be troubled about the martial law that was put in place, but let's be serious here.
