What are the odds that there are more Punk shots on Smackdown tonight?

Eh, wouldn't be shocked if roman takes a jab but that's it. Im sure cena will mention punk or reference him for a pop but nothing else

Cena saying the word Rampage :pachaha:

Rock is the GOAT only wrestlers who could compare to his popularity were Hoegan Flair and Austin. So it’s not a bad thing. Cena was the face of the company for pretty much a decade and was booked super strong. He should be a bigger draw than Punk.

Barring a mega swerve where he shows up?

There will be people chanting CM Punk tonight and tomorrow night in that WWE crowd and they will be obnoxious about it to the point where someone, either Reigns or Cena will address it

I haven't read through the thread like that, but I really can't stand when Roman talks about Punk, because he always comes off as incredibly bitter for almost no reason. If he's still twisted up about the Art of Wrestling interview, Punk didn't even really insult him in it; if anything, he went at the agents for over emphasizing the need to keep Roman strong (which, by the way, is one of the main reasons his babyface push failed for 6 years running).

It doesn't even matter that Roman's mostly correct about Punk, Cena, and Rock (the only thing I would contest is saying that Punk wasn't as good or as over as Cena. The former is wrong and the latter can be contested, especially given how Punk was booked at times during his reign). Hell, Punk himself begged to put over Cena at WrestleMania and ended up getting over his concerns about The Rock. Every time Roman speaks up about him it just comes off as sour grapes about Punk not needing WWE to stay relevant and confirming how manufactured and overdone his initial push was. He should stop talking about Punk and what he's doing and focus on the quality work he's been doing these past few months.

I didn't even get into the massive stooge element of this, either. Looks like they're still mad about losing that lawsuit, in addition to his (probably) showing up in AEW tonight.

God damn WWE has really tricked some of ya'll that Cena deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as Rock :mjlol:

Cena is the poster boy for the beginning of WWE's decline into irrelvancy. Ratings fell throughout his reign. Fans completely rejected him and do not give me this revisionist bullshyt that they were doing it ironically.

Cena had a longer run as a main event guy than anyone in WWF/E history. But none of that shyt was organic. It was the beginning of Vince persisting with someone as the top guy no matter how it was doing for business. All those drawing numbers people wheel out to defend Cena are not credible. Of course when you build the whole promotion around one guy for 10 years his drawing numbers are gonna be inflated. Just like in 10 years WWE is gonna pretend Reigns is some elite draw because they've overpushed him for years.

I don't care about the Punk comparisons. But the idea that Cena is some next level draw needs to stop. That is 100% WWE driven fiction.

I was a big CM punk fan but rosenberg is on that shyt if he thinks punk was more over than The Rock at his peak. Now if he means Punk was more over when the two of them were going head to head I think you could make a case, and a lot of people are gonna think that its wild to say that but Punk was on FIRE from 2011 on.

That's because that clown Rosenberg wasn't even watching during the attitude era :francis:

In 99 Rock was coming out to god level pops for random matches on Raw with Val Venus. Most over wrestlers ever bar none are Hoegan in 85/86, Austin in 98 and Rock in 99/00. Them three were getting insane pops every night during those periods.

Men lie, Women lie, Numbers don't

:mjlol: CM punk was nowhere near over as The Rock or Cena and he was delusional thinking he deserved the Main Event at Mania. Based on the numbers CM punk couldn't draw shyt

Nobody outside of neckbeards knows anything about the "Summer Of Punk" :russ:

Raw ratings were down during the summer of punk and so was the ppv buyrates. The Summerslam rating for Cena vs Punk was horrible :mjlol:

Fukk outta here with all the BS. CM Punk was overrated af and thought he was better then he was but the fact is he couldn't draw shyt. (Numbers don't lie)

We don't even have confirmation of Punk being signed or anything, just hints, and it's taken over all the talk over Summerslam weekend. He's not like The Rock, hell no, anyone saying otherwise is stupid, but I really do see him close to Cena.
Dude was still getting chants years after he left.

Fans still doing "What" chants in 2021 :francis:. Wrestling fans will say anything to get themselves over at the shows.
