I haven't read through the thread like that, but I really can't stand when Roman talks about Punk, because he always comes off as incredibly bitter for almost no reason. If he's still twisted up about the Art of Wrestling interview, Punk didn't even really insult him in it; if anything, he went at the agents for over emphasizing the need to keep Roman strong (which, by the way, is one of the main reasons his babyface push failed for 6 years running).

It doesn't even matter that Roman's mostly correct about Punk, Cena, and Rock (the only thing I would contest is saying that Punk wasn't as good or as over as Cena. The former is wrong and the latter can be contested, especially given how Punk was booked at times during his reign). Hell, Punk himself begged to put over Cena at WrestleMania and ended up getting over his concerns about The Rock. Every time Roman speaks up about him it just comes off as sour grapes about Punk not needing WWE to stay relevant and confirming how manufactured and overdone his initial push was. He should stop talking about Punk and what he's doing and focus on the quality work he's been doing these past few months.

I didn't even get into the massive stooge element of this, either. Looks like they're still mad about losing that lawsuit, in addition to his (probably) showing up in AEW tonight.
He's bitter because CM Punk..the rebel..in 2014..Thanksgiving 2014 he went on the Cabana podcast and talked about how they were obsessed with making "Roman look strong".

Fans still doing "What" chants in 2021 :francis:. Wrestling fans will say anything to get themselves over at the shows.
"What?" is a chant in between pauses. CM Punk is the crowd chanting for a guy who they want to see come back. And like I said, it must be telling that the whole Cena vs Reigns thing was supposed to be the big summer feud, but people are asking him about Punk returning instead. It's dumb to say that Punk wasn't a big star.

Are we talking about over, like who the actual wrestling fans fukked with?

Or are we talking about popular and recognizable by people outside of wrestling?

Rock of course is number 1 in both aspects, and will shyt on anyone, so of course.

Cena was the Hulk Hogan of the past 15 years. Consistently pushed at the top, the golden boy, held the company down as the face of their brand. And he's successfully branching out into film now.

People outside of wrestling don't know who the fukk Punk is. Not even during the pipe bomb era.

Now would I rather watch Punk over Cena in the ring? Yes. Would I rather listen to him on the mic? Yes. Do I like his character better? Yes.

Does not mean he was more popular to people outside of wrestling.

Breh, that pop during Money in the Bank haven't happened since Bryan turned on Bray during Raw in 2014. Despite what some folks saying in this thread, the fact remains that Cena is not called CeGOAT for nothing and this is coming from somebody that actually fukked with Punk before he became washed.

Yeah this spot feels intentional/foreshadowing

They wouldn't have even acknowledged Punk is breathing if he was going to be Elite in 24 hrs, instead the biggest full time star in the company shoots on him and it gets shared on WWE socials

It'd be awkward if anything other than Punk showing up on Rampage and shytting on Roman/WWE happened at this point. Like I know you don't have to respond to rumors, Tony never said Punk was coming but if it wasn't you should've deaded it way earlier. Instead you let your marks dream for weeks about Punk, Omega, Bryan matches

There is a 0% chance Punk isn't on Rampage tonight. AEW would be finished.

It's gonna be funny because the pop he's gonna get will be massive, as well as all the buzz it should generate. And people will come into this thread on some "I told you so :sas1:" shyt even though it has nothing to do with what Roman said :russ:

nikkas falling for that WWE narrative spin :dead:

Only reason Cena was over was because they pushed his ass to the moon and they still couldn't get everybody in the audience to cheer him:dead:

"He's the most polarizing superstar in WWE history:troll:" fukk outta here:dead:

I’m not mad at the WWE spin when it comes to Cena, he was their face of the company 10 years, the only thing is that he’s on a lower tier than Austin, Rock, Hogan, just like how Roman is the face of the WWE now but he’s on a lower tier than Cena.

In my opinion the real case of blatant narrative spinning by WWE is Randy Orton, I remember when the whole Kenny Omega/Randy Orton controversy happened a few months back and you actually had some cats on the internet calling Orton a GOAT tier wrestler, I mean are you kidding me? Orton has only had 5 hot years out of 19, for the other 14 he was mid, just blessed to have an amazing finisher.

Neither is he though

Son said that like Cena’s and Rock’s just come around every day like that. Them nikkas is stars outside of this carny ass business for a reason

He'll likely be joining them eventually so his motivation behind these statements is clear. Is he right; discuss that quietly among yourselves class.
