Me personally I loved this film.
I know I just sound like a contrarian, but goddamn, i've thought about Darth Vader's lava castle a lot since seeing this, and that scene was so fukkin terrible. something about knowing he has a fukkin lava castle knocks the character down a peg for me.
What's your issue with it?

Congrats to "Rogue One" as it will be the Biggest movie of the year as a Spin Off. NOTHING is bigger than Star Wars period. If No-Name Characters can win the year at the box office than nothing is stopping future Star Wars films (Yes Vader being in it clearly helped). Domestically "Rogue One" is now a Top 10 Grossing film of all time and now there are 4 Star Wars movie sin the Top 10 Grossing of all time. "Civil War" and "Finding Dory" both got beat. Even if you adjust for "Inflation" "Rogue One" still doing pretty good. I still think they need to be careful about over saturation but now with Carrie Fisher passing "Episode VIII" might breaks records too. "Han Solo" film could do very well even without Harrison. I definitely think the 3rd Spin Off film should be YODA even though rumors are they are thinking about Bobafett.

i just never needed to know that information about that character. I never once wondered "hmm, I wonder where Vader goes after work." it was just fukkin dumb. seemed like something Lucas would insert in a recut for no reason. "it always bugged me that we never saw Vader off the clock." that's like some Robot Chicken shyt. just saying the words "Darth Vader's Castle" sounds so ridiculous to me.

Depends on how you look at it I guess. There is a good bit of back story in the novels that connect it all but if you don't care about that then its a meaningless.
