I prefer a D9 sequel and that's the movie he's known most for. A Robocop movie could do well or could flop too, it's a gamble either way. I'm in for a Robocop movie though.

Breh everuthing could go either way. But a studio is always going to bank on an older IP that has toys, a tv show, a cartoon, and a 30 year legacy vs something from 10 years ago that was a hit but didn’t have the same cultural impact. They’re always looking for ways to revive old IPs that they still make money from and robocop still makes money.

I think he might. I'd love to see Buckaroo back in the role. How old is he now?

So Peter Weller coming back???
:dwillhuh:
It will be interesting how and if they handle this. Anyone has access to the sequel script? Its pretty old but I'd like to see how they approach a sequel to the OG. Just give me some Ed-209s and I'm good

Still have no idea why it was squealing like a pig when it fell down the stairs.

They wrote that script before the internet was a mainstream thing. I don't even think any film journalists have seen the script. Probably just the original studio, Paul, and maybe Frank Miller:russ:

That's another thing about Robocop now: It's such a satire of Frank Miller's shyt from that period, will the current culture have any touchstones for it?

That's obvious, take a risk on something established...but it didn't work for the reboot that's why a sequel to d9 would be a better look for Neil imo.

I think it didn't work for the reboot because it was labeled as a reboot and nerds hate that word, it wasn't R rated so the assumption was it would be soft, and the marketing wasn't great. So it had three strikes against it. By labeling this as a sequel, not a reboot, and by getting people involved who were instrumental in the creation of the property to begin with, you ingratiate yourself to the audience who cares about that kinda thing and it makes it an easier sell. You gotta preach to the congregation first before you can take your message outside of the church
