Wow.

Rappin aired this past weekend, and I can never stand to watch more than 5 minutes of it. Gonna watch to see the all you can eat scene.

The Krush Groove scene is classic. I used to hit up the Sbarro's in Times Square and I ALWAYS walked in singing "All You Can Eat"

they even run off and stop at a random stoop afterwards. difference is, instead of hittin up a Sbarro, they fat bul gets fired from the supermarket, and he was the main one eating. the rest of them are basically gassing him up. LOL.

as for the bolded, do you have Grio?? or did you watch it on a different channel last week??
they just showed Rappin, now im watching Breakin 2. and then Beat Street is next.:dj2:

Thanks

I have griotv as an over the air channel. Made a thread hyping the debut and I tried to put people up on the fact that they air Blaxploitation era movies.

Rapping is terrible. There's a reason why it's never mentioned or brought up in discussions about hip hop at the movies.

Now back to Markie. He had a natural screen presence, and he and the Fat Boys paved the way for the KidnPlay and Fresh Princes to get shots in films and TV later.

Damn man...

Fat Boys and Run-DMC were pretty much my first fav rappers when I was like 5, used to watch Krush Groove around the clock.

That first Fat Boys album was a whole jam.

One of the first rap acts to hit it real big with endorsements, movies, etc... they were everywhere for a couple years.

WOW RIP!

Did you happen to have MTV back in the day? I was lucky enough to have it and the Fat Boys were just such a special part of early MTV and hip hop being on television in general.

It's something that if you weren't there it's very hard to describe. Around the time of Wipeout (with the Beach Boys) and The Twist with Chubby Checker. I don't think most people realize how the were two absolute LEGENDS of music. They were on MTV.. A LOT A LOT!

Of course the music before that since the disco 3 and buffy helping pioneer the beat box. Also Krush Groove and Disorderlies. Outside of Hip Hop they were a big part of the 80's. Like Mr. T, Pee Wee Herman, etc.. they were there as far as that fun/weird 80's era.

Not to mention he's done some big production deals, his radio work, etc. Always seemed nice.
