Cause Madvillainy was some shyt I listened to out of boredom and internet hype, having lived through the DOOM/Oh No (it was more Oh No than Madlib.)/MadlidbAdult Swim time, but had my communication to it cut off) and it was really all fly commercials and placements to me.

I was overwhelmed. DOOM was a rhyming animal. shyt was bewildering. He was legit the first MC to have me like after Common's "Resurrection" album woke me to LISTENING to music and lyrics and not just HEARING it.
