it's still surreal.

me, as a fan... waiting one year- 2hree years- 5 years to hear some new shyt....

and now knowing we'll prolly never hear no new shyt :mjcry:

even this

"plead the fifth
Sip wine stiffly.
Patiently come up, and be spiffy in a jiffy.
Gift for the grind. Criminal mind. Shifty.
Swift with the nine through a 59/50. (59/50 fitted hats with the gold sticker on the bill)"

breh was legit a lyrical savant. :mjcry:

The cause
MPC / SP people. . . How do you think he always got those stutter drums in there on his beats?

I'd love to see it . . I know it was metal fingers and it was down to the cut off . . But it was so unique . .

I think its holding the note repeat button with the 1/16 or 1/32(3) selected on the MPC

the first time I heard it....
during that applause I was like :dwillhuh: who IS this nikka!?" I'll never forget. I was in my oldsmobile intrigue driving pm a dirt road.

Cause Madvillainy was some shyt I listened to out of boredom and internet hype, having lived through the DOOM/Oh No (it was more Oh No than Madlib.)/MadlidbAdult Swim time, but had my communication to it cut off) and it was really all fly commercials and placements to me.

I was overwhelmed. DOOM was a rhyming animal. shyt was bewildering. He was legit the first MC to have me like :mindblown: after Common's "Resurrection" album woke me to LISTENING to music and lyrics and not just HEARING it.

DOOM: :whoa: UH, NO! NO! ENOUGH!

Me: :dwillhuh::dwillhuh::dwillhuh::dwillhuh::dwillhuh::dwillhuh:

can't NOT be a fan after that. :wow:

It’s different levels to this rap shyt when you are good.

you can be good

You can be great to the point where it’s easy for you

Or you can be great to the point where you just are having fun out there. That’s where he was at on that track

We rock the house like rock 'n roll
Got more soul than a sock with a hole
Set the stage with a goal
To have the game locked in a cage getting shocked with a pole

That last line always hit me :mindblown:

Like who comes up with shyt like that?

Willacoochee, Ga
now i regret not stockpiling and collecting all music with his name on it. i always had his main albums but i would skip over any remixes or things i thought were a remix or rehash of something i already heard. probably missed out on a lot.

It's the beat, he hear it in his sleep sometimes
Blare it in your jeep so your peoples can stare at them rhymes
Real rhymes not your everyday hologram
Even when ribs was touchin', never swallowed the ham
He'd rather eat a sand sandwich salad
It might need salt like your man's bland ballad
A lot of stuff happens that the news won't tell you's
Blues on L juice, snooze, all hell loose
