It was Rhinestone Cowboy for me.

It was crazy because I had already been blown away several times by other songs on the album and I didn’t think it could possibly get any better.

Then the beat dropped and my man said:

“Hold a cold one like he hold a old gun
Like he hold the microphone
and stole the show for fun
Or a foe for ransom
Flows is handsome”

It was a long time ago but I’m 99% sure I let out a little squeal like a bytch”

By the time the song finished I just sat there like what the fukk did I just listen to.

:whew:

It’s different levels to this rap shyt when you are good.

you can be good

You can be great to the point where it’s easy for you

Or you can be great to the point where you just are having fun out there. That’s where he was at on that track

Those are the top echelon rappers that are truly seeing the matrix

Bending the laws of rap at their will. DOOM definitely had it. Lupe has it as well. Nas has it.

MPC / SP people. . . How do you think he always got those stutter drums in there on his beats?

I'd love to see it . . I know it was metal fingers and it was down to the cut off . . But it was so unique . .

Breh, I've been playing this to death since you posted it.

I really slept on that King Geedorah album. :wow:

This song would've been in my personal soundtrack for years.

It's amazing right? One of his greatest projects for sure.

I highly recommend listening to MF Grimms heartfelt tribute to his own brother, Subroc, Big L and others over the same beat too!

the first time I heard it....
during that applause I was like :dwillhuh: who IS this nikka!?" I'll never forget. I was in my oldsmobile intrigue driving pm a dirt road.

Cause Madvillainy was some shyt I listened to out of boredom and internet hype, having lived through the DOOM/Oh No (it was more Oh No than Madlib.)/MadlidbAdult Swim time, but had my communication to it cut off) and it was really all fly commercials and placements to me.

I was overwhelmed. DOOM was a rhyming animal. shyt was bewildering. He was legit the first MC to have me like :mindblown: after Common's "Resurrection" album woke me to LISTENING to music and lyrics and not just HEARING it.

DOOM: :whoa: UH, NO! NO! ENOUGH!

Me: :dwillhuh::dwillhuh::dwillhuh::dwillhuh::dwillhuh::dwillhuh:

can't NOT be a fan after that. :wow:
