Didn't Jason Kidd win rookie of the year?

I believe so. He also made the all star team that first year I believe. Only to be traded by Dallas 2 seasons later

I highly doubt you trade Jason Kidd at that point if you knew what he would be become today

Rubio didn't have a lot more hype than Wall - fukk is you talking about?

The problem with the term bust is that folk have their own agendas/expectations. See now you've said that you can't call him a bust because the Wizards play better with him than without him, and that if anybody had higher expectations (Rose 2.0) they'd be wrong. When the next man may say, his talent and projections/expectations were greater than just some good passer/defender/secondary-type scorer, therefore they'd call him a bust. In reality he lies between the two, he ain't a BUST yet but you can't be saying that folk would be wrong to have HIGHER expectations of one of the most hyped/talented PGs in the history of the draft. You're re-writing history by acting like his projection and ceiling didn't indicate he was gonna be an elite guard and not just some 'oh he's a good passer and he makes my team better' type player.

The expectations you have of Wall are on some 3rd/4th best PG, 17th pick in the draft type shyt.

nikka shut the fukk up :demonic:

Kidd was avg as hell his first stint with the Mavericks.. It wasnt until he got to Phoenix when he started playing like an All Star

Rajon Rondo and a young Jason Kidd could also play defense and grab rebounds as well....Rubio doesnt have that as part of his game.

You cant compare him to them, because they are better passers as well

the hate rondo gets is disgusting

Naw dude's right.

Rubio does know how to run an offense but I don't know if his shooting will ever come around. I mean he's been in professional leagues for 7+ seasons and hasn't really improved in that area at all.

He's averaging 3.5 rebounds per game breh:comeon:

Even coming off the bench as a rookie...Rondo averaged more rebounds than that, and Jason Kidd averages 6.3 rebounds for his career. Rubio isnt a rebounder like them.

Yes, Rubio gets steals....but he isnt a great man to man defender like Rondo and Kidd was.

:childplease: if he stays healthy, hell be consistently a top 10 pg in the L every season.

Gotta work on that jump shot though :scusthov:

:whoa: Don't be so sure about that. The PG position is STRONG AS fukk right now.

Let's not even talk about guys coming into the league in the future, Rubio is going to have to compete with the following cats through most of his career...

Russell Westbrook
Stephen Curry
Derrick Rose
Jrue Holiday
Brandon Jennings
Ty Lawson
Rajon Rondo
Kyrie Irving
Damian Lillard
Jeff Teague
John Wall
Kemba Walker
Darren Collison
Brandon Knight
Eric Bledsoe
Mike Conley
Grievis Vasquez
Jeremy Lin (I have no faith in this guy but he's been better than Rubio this season :manny:)

Chris Paul and Deron Williams will probably be effective throughout Rubio's career as well.

Rubio has the more flashier passes.....but Rondo and Kidd knew how to get the ball to their teammates in the perfect position with them already in position to score.

Rubio's closer to a Jason Williams type of passer than a Jason Kidd.

The better question is this, by the end of his rookie contract do you think Rubio will deserve a max extension.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Rubio was out there running PROFESSIONAL GROWN MEN teams when Rondo at the same age was playing at Oak Hill academy. In terms of how rich Rubio's pedigree is at knowing how to run a team effectively - he's Amancio Ortega status compared to Rondo. Rubio is light years ahead of where Rondo was at the same age, he's probably even better than him now. He has a richer history at running the point than Kidd did at the same age too.
