Rick Glaser: Mayweather v Maidana 2 did only 772k PPV buys...not 925k. Dan Rafael says high 800k.

Either way, it aint 925k which is fake as hell numbers.

I believe Dan Rafael and his sources over both Kevin Iole and Rick Glaser.

The title of your link says PPV buys come close to 900000...that's not far off from "fake as hell" 925k...Iole got his numbers early N they was off by 30-40k that's not bad:manny:

Now the other guy who tweets from his couch is off by 100k+ :russ:

Glaser is full of shyt which was my whole point in this discussion

My job here is done

Dan Rafael never said close to 900k:ufdup:

He said his source says that it MIGHT hit the high 800s....not that it already did or will:sas2:

We dont know yet until Big Dan got his numbers back yet.

It might fall at 850k, about 75k more than what Glaser reported, and 75k less than what Iole is reporting:yeshrug:

Big Dan is always right:manny:

Your job is only to refute Glasers position?:heh:

He's annoying, I'll give you that:russ:

And he spreads rumors to fast before fact finding or verifying all info:snoop:

@Newzz

You say "Big Dan" is always right? :troll:

Does that include his JR WW rankings ? :sas1:

So you agree with him having AB ranked behind Peterson, Ruslan and Algierie?:sas2:

Peterson and Chris Algieri are Champions at 140. Ruslan Provodnikov has his best win over Mike Alvarado at 140 while AB has his best win over Emmanuel Taylor at 140.

So I would have to say Big Dan is correct:youngsabo:

Is it close to a million buys?:mjpls:

let's say the fight did 875k for sake of argument...if the fight needs 1 million to be profitable for the company, you dont think that extra loss of 9.4 million dollars effects the bottomline for the company (Showtime)?:mjpls:

Read between the lines scrappy.

They only officially announced the PPV buys of 1 out of 4 fights since he's signed there....Floyd vs Canelo. It was also the only fight Floyd has had, while being signed to Showtime, that the projected figure was over 1 million.

In contrast, on HBO, his last 4 fights were at 1.06 vs JMM, 1.4 vs Mosley, 1.25 vs Ortiz, and 1.5 vs Cotto

Do you really think Showtime came out of pocket with that large of a number (6 fights, minimum 200 million total) to give to a fighter who averaged 1.3 million views over his last 4 bouts, just for him to put up less than 1 million buys in 75% of the fights on their network?:comeon:

I dont, so I believe it when I hear the journalists make the statement that Showtime is disappointed with the buys under 1 million.

Again, they have their sources as well. You can take it with a grain of salt, but the info and the numbers are there to look at.

Ask yourself why Showtime is refusing to release official PPV numbers...and then get back to me.

Where were the numbers officially announced for Canelo though they were reported in the same manner numbers are always reported weren't they
but why didn't you excuses mayweather's camp for lying about those?

How do you you need 1 million buys for showtime to profitable? Where are you getting this from?

The gave Floyd that money because thats how much he makes per fight anyway lol

If your applying that HBO does a job promoting then you're probably right
but everything else you saying isn't based in reality

Struggle Team out here in shambles

Floyd got them looking like hypocrites regarding Ariza and now they don't care about ppv #s all of a sudden. :mjcry:

PPVs number only come up when you compare Floyd's to other fighters

which you idiots won't do, because it's not debatable

I don't even know what point is trying to be made?

The fact these are considerable terrible numbers for Floyd shows how successful he is and people are just mad at the money

thats the sad part

who really expected this to on par with his other fights giving the opponent

will manny and algeri do UFC 180 numbers people gonna come out the word work defending arum

:dahell:

The 2.2 million was officially announced by Showtime itself:ufdup:

Here's a copy of their official press release on the PPV numbers: http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/20...ossing-oay-per-view-event-of-all-time/203875/

They gave him the money, because he was a 1 million per fight draw on HBO PPV....that's how he got the contract. He doesnt make that "per fight anyway". He makes that because of only his ability to be a draw and nothing else.

His last 4 fights on HBO were all over 1 mill. Only 1 of his 4 fights on Showtime has cracked 1 million...ironically, the ONLY fight they issued an official press release for.

If your applying that HBO does a job promoting then you're probably right

Everything is based in reality.

Im giving you the numbers, the quotes, the links....you just dont wanna accept it:manny:

These numbers are NOT on par.

He drew 1.25 million ppv buys to watch him fight Victor Ortiz (who Maidana already had beaten) with Ortiz coming off a victory over Andre Berto:sas1:

He drew a TOTAL of only 850k with him fighting Marcos Maidana coming off a victory over Adrien Broner with Amir Khan AND Adrien Broner on the undercard as well:sas2:

And then he put up similar 850k numbers again this time:wow:

His drawing power is down obviously and Head of Showtime Stephen Espinoza had to do an interview even addressing the many speculations/reports of how Showtime is losing money on every Floyd fight that doesnt break 1 million ppv buys:manny:

Floyd makes the money he makes because he's his own boss, regardless where he goes he will make the same amount

showtime gave him the contract to steal him away from HBO

A press release for a RECORD HISTORY MAKING MOMENT, SHOCKING

Canelo Floyd is the highest grossing fight ever of course it would be a press release for that achievement

His last 4 fights on HBO were over a mil

but Canelo and Floyd is the biggest fight of all time, and it was on showtime
