I agree man. Dan Rafael isn't always right, but he's working sources to get information that hasn't been officially published when he reports "rumors".Either way, it aint 925k which is fake as hell numbers.
I believe Dan Rafael and his sources over both Kevin Iole and Rick Glaser.
I could give a fukk about PPV numbers for any of these dudes because none of that shyt goes into my pocket and it really doesn't mean a damn thing as far as being a boxing fan goes.but how many times did de la hoya have big fights before floyd?
My nikka u r so slowI could give a fukk about PPV numbers for any of these dudes because none of that shyt goes into my pocket and it really doesn't mean a damn thing as far as being a boxing fan goes.
However, you must be a crackhead to even make that statement.
Oscar fought all of these dudes before Floyd, and they were all considered big fights:
Pernell Whitaker
Hector Camacho
Felix Trinidad
Fernando Vargas
Shane Mosley (twice)
Bernard Hopkins
What the fukk is wrong with you Floyd Stans who act like boxing officially started when dude fought Oscar on PPV?
You said Canelo was a bigger draw when he fought Floyd than Floyd was when he fought Oscar.
He is though
Being that Floyd's BIGGEST PPV before fighting Oscar De La Hoya was against his rival and IBF Champion, Zab Judah, who was well known by tons of boxing fans and considered a big matchup....it sold 374k on PPV.
Canelo Alvarez went up against Alfredo Angulo, was was unranked by every single organization RING/ESPN/IBF/WBA/WBC/WBO, and he STILL did 350k (only 24k less than Floyd vs Zab which was an anticipated matchup years in the making).
Zab Judah brought just as many fans to the matchup (let's not forget how the fans were chanting for Zab during the fight). Floyd vs Zab was a very looked forward to event.
Canelo vs Angulo, on the otherhand, people were saying it didnt even belong on PPV
Your post would have been so dope except for one little problem, the Angulo fight was after the Floyd fight.
Has Canelo ever fought on PPV main event prior to fighting Floyd?
You wanna compare their "cable" ratings then?
If you dont think that a Floyd Mayweather Jr who cant even break 900k on Showtime in any fight not with Canelo Alvarez, but all of a sudden he has a 2.2 million PPV buys on his resume which is NOT normal for him recently, wasnt because of Canelo Alvarez and his following...you're crazy.
Floyd vs Guerrero...875k
Floyd vs Alvarez...2.2 mill
Floyd vs Maidana...850k
Floyd vs Maidana 2...high 800k
1) You said he was a bigger draw but at best they were equal.
2)Actually if you can find them I wouldn't mind seeing Floyds cable ratings from the time to be honest, but that was like 10+ years ago that Floyd wasn't fighting on PPV.
3) Lets do a comparison then
Canelo vs Trout... not on PPV
Canelo vs Floyd... 2.2 mill
Canelo vs Angulo... 350k
Canelo vs Lara... 300k
Canelo drew 350k on PPV against an unranked by any organization, non fanbase having Angulo.
Floyd drew 374k on PPV against the IBF Champion, his rival, in a higly anticipated matchup against Zab Judah who had his own fanbase.
I would give the nod to Canelo using context
Isnt that the point though? He said Canelo was a bigger draw than Floyd was before Floyd fought Oscar...which is true.
Are you moving the goal posts to compare Floyd's PPV to Canelo's PPV numbers after fighting each other
The facts are, Canelo today is a bigger draw than Floyd was until he fought Oscar.
Has Canelo ever fought on PPV main event prior to fighting Floyd?

1) Again you said before the Floyd fight but Angulo was after.
2) So you cant find Floyds pre ppv numbers to compare them to Canelos pre ppv numbers but somehow that magically makes what you said true?
3) Im not moving the goalpost at all. Your point is pretty much Canelo was basically equal if not bigger in making that fight over 2 million buys than Floyd, but if you look at the numbers that's clearly not the case.
Canelo's numbers have drastically dropped off after even more than Floyds have. He was a key component in making the fight sell sure but that's because people believed he had a shot to take out Floyd. In the end
the fight did so well because of people wanting to see Mayweather win or hopefully lose and not so much to see Canelo.
Floyd's 2 ppv before Oscar sold like 700k combined , Canelos 2 ppv post Floyd sold 650k combined.
So unless your using some alien math that I don't know 700>650
You guys are trolling or retarded
you lucky terrence crawford cant put hands on your boy...would knock his fukking block offAs long as he has "The #1 Lightweight In The World" on the roster....the sky's the limit
