Elon musk dying would be one of the most uplifting things to happen in the year that it does. If he was in a tesla that malfunctioned, crashed, and he burned to death because firefighters couldnt break through the glass fast enough(the moron ordered hard to break glass without thinking about firefighters having to rescue people or someone stuck underwater having to break the glass to escape) that would just be delicious.

The guy Musk quoted is just as bigoted without the enormous wealth, but he uses Libertarianism as his reasoning. It's his megalomanical behavior, which is absolutely a mental disorder, that never ceases to disgust me. He doesn't care about any of these peoples circumstances that led to homelessness; all he wants to do is let the world know that it's okay to view these people as subhuman and they're probably better off dead.

I presume that the "20 billion" number is strictly for housing, which, while being a gross underestimation of the correct action to fix the problem in the literal sense, would do very little to actually solve the underlying issues.

Yep. A lot of the homeless are ungrateful for the help or just want to get high. The advocates and nonprofits are just in it for the government cash. Only a handful of homeless people are actually helped.

Conservatives in the 80s and 90s praised the "Success Sequence" and wrote off Black men's problems by saying if you 1) graduated HS, 2) didn't have kids outside wedlock, 3) worked a full time job, you were unlikely to end up highly impoverished. Not sure how true this is today but it was said as gospel back then.

Granted those three things are correlated with each other and also with the situations many Black men are find themselves pushed into via societal neglect so it sounds like "gee, they can get it together" to whitewash the underlying problems that make our crisis.

It doesn't matter if you have a roof over your head or not.

The real issues are hunger employment and health, You address those issue and everyone will be fine.

He’s not wrong but the issue is what is his solution? Musk says bullshyt like this in order to insinuate that these people are lesser and do not deserve any sort of sympathy or holistic approaches. He softly implying that these people deserve to be ground up by the criminal justice system and if that don’t work he will then start dog whistling about how many of them are black and that it’s a “failure of their culture” .
