Government would be the best option to do something. Either tweak the spending programs that has been wasteful in Cali, Colorado, or NY or pass draconian laws and ban sleeping in public or outdoor drug use and have police and jail them.

Elon isn’t wrong. If you’ve live in NYC you know this. $4 billion in tax dollars spent on homeless care and they’re sleeping on the train and shooting up heroin in public parks with no shame.

It may also mean the money may be helping those dealing with only homelessness and are people eager to find housing but it hasn’t addressed those suffering from mental illness or drug addiction which are people grouped into the homeless category

Twitter headquarters used to be only 2 blocks from the heart of the tenderloin -- also across the street from city hall and bill graham center which areas are usually flooded with thousands of homeless people as I speak, so yes id imagine Elon Musk has stepped over a homeless person or 100.



edit: Theres probably 1,000+ homeless within a 0.5 mile radius of twitter headquarters as I type this.

He’s not wrong but the issue is what is his solution? Musk says bullshyt like this in order to insinuate that these people are lesser and do not deserve any sort of sympathy or holistic approaches. He softly implying that these people deserve to be ground up by the criminal justice system and if that don’t work he will then start dog whistling about how many of them are black and that it’s a “failure of their culture” .
