Ok and these personnel moves fall on Rex.

He wanted Sanchez. He wanted Holmes. He wanted the terminator.....Rex doesnt think through the moves on offense and is suffocating the team with his refusal to become more flexible on that side of the ball

Like I said he tied his ship to Sanchez the first two years when better QB play probably has the Jets playing for a SB

I dont disagree. except with the last statement. sanchez was a rookie/sophomore and did enough for the offense to be decent. its obvious they wanted to stick with him and see how he grows. most coaches would do so in that situation (if you can call that a situation).

I mean, if he shelved his high 1st round qb and got a journeyman qb amidst good performance by the team...thered be a public outcry, no ?

look at how much outcry there was when alex smith got benched. and alex was a 8 year vet who only had one good year.

Was there really outcry when Smith got benched? Once ppl saw Kaep throw it was obvious who they had to go with if they wanted to take the next step.

good amount here in the bay.

its a huge leap of faith by a coach to bench his promising qb (and fez fit the bill then because other players on the team masked his deficiencies and in general he was more or less unknown quality) for someone else...if it didnt work rex would be gone in a year or two imo.

There was some outcry for about 2 weeks, but it died down quickly.

You don't even hear about the shyt at this point.

As far as Rex...him and Tanny went all in on Sanchez....Tannenbaum is definitely a goner and I think Rex doesnt want to be a lame duck coach. He had a ton of flexibility to do what he wanted personnel wise with Tanny overseeing him. Rex needed to have Kyle Wilson. Needed Kenrick Ellis....all of these picks have Rex's hands on them...John Conner....the Holmes signing.....Rex isnt blameless.

WIth a new GM Rex's balls are cut off. Which probably wouldnt be a bad thing but I dont see Rex as a flexible guy.

being in the bay, the point gets brought up enough times

At least with Kapernick youre pretty certain he's the future. Most Jets fans never saw that in Sanchez.

rex should just go be a DC somewhere. some guys just arent cut out to be head coaches. generally you want your HC to be a kind of a dikk and have a personality and shyt... but rex just got tangled in his own web...

How does that address what i said? I stated that theyve never won shyt and are where they are because of nepotism. Those are facts.

Hes been a head coach for 4 years been to two afc title games you act like dudes went 2-14 every year

While i agree hes done some weird shyt this year results wise overall you can do much worse then him

Yeah he knows nothing about offense but youd be surprised how many nfl coaches only concentrate on one side of the ball and have the other coaches handle the other

The offenses problem isnt the gameplan as much as the personnel sucks, the offense was good enough the first two years even under a rookie qb because the personnel was much better

Between the yapping and the foot fetish nonsense....I dont see him getting a HC gig just yet. He's burned a lot of bridges without even realizing it. This report even says he might go to ESPN.

But its clear what he's doing right now is trying to save his own ass by and making Tannenbaum the fall guy.

The passing offense never improved. Its been terrible all four years....its extremely difficult to win in this league without being able to throw the ball down the field consistently.

They gave 11 sacks to SD man.

11, I`m not saying they quit, but how the fukk do you give up 11 sacks to San Diego?

I wonder what that has to do with my point if you're saying they're not quitting.

No one has accused the Jets of quitting on Rex unless one is to manufacture that right now.

None of your musings on the Jets has ever said they quit.

Like I said....If a coach felt that way, you'd see quit in the team which I haven't seen.

I agree breh. but I dont think he is a very good head coach. his defense is what got jets to afc championships, not his work as a head coach :manny:

Because of the qb not the gameplan

If the Jets had an above average qb during rex's tenure they probably have a super bowl ring one of the first two years
