he sucked today, constantly overthrowing open receivers deep. well, we already knew that he has accuracy issues past 20 yards

the burning question is, did u and emp scrap ?

That was the thing. Alex seems to have mastered the art of not fukking him or take chance throws. Mthere were times Davis had a step on someone in the middle of the field and he was too scared to pull the trigger. He only throws the ball too deep routes that have a step and he even sucks at that. They should have put a 50 spot on the Jets

I was at the game with my wife and son. The hell I look like telling my wife " I got sohh beef"

no dont give me that crap "anyone can see that"
explain, quantify it. stats tell theyre about the same.

cutler has the better armstrength but otherwise I dont see anything that tells me cutler has been better over their careers as starters. cutler has potential if he cuts down on dumb decisions but if fitz cuts down on them while maintaining his TD rate he also has potential

youre the one who brings yards and TDs to quantify a QBs performance (like gushing over tannenhills or kolbs performances)....so why not fitz ?

:what:

I have always stated that stats don't tell the whole story so please miss me with that bullshyt.

And they don't even have the same stats. Cutler's are superior (if you want to go the stat route). Fitz has hit his ceiling whereas cutler has not. Fitz has a weak arm and is an INT machine. His TD/INT ratio is 1:1 whereas Cutler's is much better.

If you're going to call me out at least do some research. You're trying to tell me Tanny hasn't played well? Kolb has also played well this year. It has nothing to do wit their yardage or touchdowns. I have watched both of them play and they have played well.

Why you bring this up in a 9er thread is beyond me.

Eh. I don't even think Staley was good last year. The best he's ever been IMO is serviceable. I'm just not high on him. Boone has looked great and AD has always had the talent. I'm pleased with the line play.

Again, throwing into triple coverage is not advisable, but the play was called and Kaep had just that one pass play, so he took more of a risk. I'm pretty sure if he was starting, he wouldn't be tossing it up into triple coverage regularly. I don't understand the criticism. It's no big deal.

I just don't see how he can sit for a 3rd year behind a QB who is simply "meh". If Alex steps up and shows he can finally be the QB we expect of him, then I don't think Kaep will play and will probably be traded as I'm sure we'll get some calls.

If Alex is the same guy next year, why should Kaep sit?

Left tackle is arguably one of the 4 hardest positions to play in football and there are only 2 or 3 elite left tackles in the NFL. Staley will never be at the top but the dude is solid, we had chances to upgrade but the price tag would have broken us. Even with this most people would still put Staley in the top 10. My issue was his health more than his ability, should he stay healthy we'll be fine.

It would be foolish for us to trade Kaepernick like he's Nate Davis. Everyone pretty much agrees he's the QB of the future. Alex being the same guy is ok this year and maybe part of next year, he's playing well and has improved, albeit not as much as people would like. But I don't wanna put Kaep out too soon either, If he starts next year cool, I won't argue, but I still think we're taking the right approach. We knew when we drafted him he was at least 3 years away, but his upside is too good to ignore. I'm not gonna kill Kap for that play, I was impressed with the actual throw, just a bit concerned because if that pass in intercepted, it changes the climate of the game at that point.

Fair enough.

What a good day in New Jersey.

That was fun, just pure fun from beginning to end. I was with 6 other Jets fans and they were in the dumps the whole time, kinda felt bad for em.

Once I brought up my phone and started to mention Sanchez's stats dudes were screaming at me. I started laughing my ass off

As for the criticism of Alex, he missed the deep shot a few times today but there were also ones that could have been caught.

Even though he didn't play great that game, he did exactly what he was supposed to. Harbaugh saw how that game was going and Alex literally handing the ball off and only making super safe throws was the way to go.

Harbaugh knew our defense would win us that game so why even risk putting them in a bad spot, I noticed about halfway through it was obvious we were playing that 49ers football from 2011. It was all about field position and we knew we`d win that battle and it would win us the game.

All 3 phases were symbiotic again. Defense played lights out, offense was efficent running the ball and made no mistakes and ST made kept the field position in our favor all day long.

Good solid win, over a bad team

49ers fans call me crazy, but does anyone else feel Manningham is borderline our best WR right now?

He is playing real well and is a threat even running the ball

Im not calling you out, but Im trying to understand your criteria.
I decided to do it here cuz I know u check the thread.

fitz's td/int ratio is pretty much the same as cutler's, especially if you take fitz's time as full-time starting qb.

you still haven't explained HOW those QBs have played well. besides the fact that you watched them, I got that. quantify your argument.

tannehill looked decent for a rookie and kolb has played alright at best but no matter how many yards they gained they both threw key picks that led to game being changed completely. kolb has thrown a pick in the ENDZONE on 2nd and 2 when a score would put the cards up two possessions.

I just find it weird you bring up tds and yards when talking cutler or kolb but then dont bring it up when talking about fitz...

Im not calling you out, I just point out inconsistencies. the only thing that separates fitz from those qbs is his arm. and even then, kolb has similar arm.

the fact is I havent see you quantify the reason WHY you think these qbs are better, besides their arms.

on topic, I think alex has pretty much hit his ceiling.
I think there'll come a point very soon that he'll be the one whos the weakest point on offense.once oline improves a bit in pass pro he'll be the weakest link.

this season so far I expected more improvement from him but he doesnt even go through progressions anymore. deep throws get overthrown unless its vd

I still like that he takes care of the ball given the nature of this team, but we might need to give kaep a chance sooner than later.

I mean, all Im asking is him hitting the wide open receiver deep. if he could at least do that teams wouldnt be stacking the box against us all day. then Id be perfectly happy with him at QB.

but if he cant do that...we have to keep grooming kaep. the wildcat addition is a welcome one. question is can harbs bring himself to replace alex

it's inevitable that Kaep is gonna take over but harbs is doing the right thing working him in slowly. i still think that we can win a SB with alex as the starter but at the same time it's obvious that he won't be much better than what he is right now- an average at best QB.

it's like i said yesterday- the writing is on the wall. the offense has a chance to be very dynamic and explosive once Kaep is the starter.
