We're gonna actually have to pass the ball against good teams. Nothing encouraging about Alex's performance this season.

Great win, here are some observations:

Alex Smith had a so-so game, he's just good enough to keep a defense honest, but he can't throw a good deep ball, there were at leat 4 or 5 times, Manningham in particular was out deep and we couldn't get him. But he protected the ball, made a couple of plays with his feet and didn't hurt us. He completed 60% of his passes and has actually played a decent season so far. He isn't setting the world on fire but he makes up for it with smart decisions for the most part. But if we don't make some big plays through the air, we are going to have the same problem we had midseason with teams putting 8 dudes in the box, trying to stifle our run game.

I like inserting Kaep into the offense. He's extremely athletic and in wildcats and options plays and unlike Tebow, dude is enough of a threat to make a throw downfield. Rex Ryan should take notes. That being said, his one throw was impressive, despite his poor decision making, if it were double coverage, Randy Moss might've came down with that one. But I'm glad dude got his first NFL touchdown (well two really, but we didn't want to rub it in)

Kendall Hunter played very well. Gore also played better than his stats. Our running game is a battering ram and if we win games through a war of attrition so be it.

Our pass defense played well though, even though it was against Sanchez.

Our O-Line as a whole played its best game this season, despite the two or three sacks.

our oline is a beast in run blocking.

even in the vikes game our run game was working fine, we just had to move away from it...

Yeah, if we can't figure it out after the bye week we might be in trouble. Specially considering how good the D is in our division.

Our O-Line as a whole played its best game this season, despite the two or three sacks.

He actually completed 57% of his passes. That comp% drops when he actually attempts lower percentage throws like every other QB in the league.

Alex is fine as long as we're winning. If we are down by more than a TD and he has to carry the team, we will lose, period.

Running game was and is on point. We need to focus on the run, cuz when we run the ball a lot, we are beastly.

OLine is pretty decent. They don't get enough credit. Staley is shyt, though.

I don't think the Kaep throw was that bad. It was in the endzone, and it gave Moss a chance to make a play. He almost came down with it. I understand the whole "no picks" thing. But sometimes you have to make that tough throw and give your dude a chance to make a play. Hell, we saw that play with Troy Smith even.

Kaep will either be starting next year or not in SF's plans.

yea but triple coverage? he would of been better off tucking the ball and running with it

that play is fine only in 3rd and long situations imo, cuz its like a punt.
theres zero excuse for any QB to throw into triple coverage to any receiver

it could be Dan Marino or Montana or Peyton throwing it up to prime Rice/Moss/TO and it still would be a bad decision.
