Brehs, I know we're not going to see Kaep and I'm not saying we should see him. But the way our offense is...yall don't think he could come in and succeed? Alex is a vet and has more experience, but the system doesn't ask him to do much thinking. We need to either let go of the leashes and tell Alex to let the ball fly, or just put Kaep in if we need a robot to hit 5 yard outs and bubble screens all the way down the field.
Kaep can't read defenses for beans but he has the physical tools, it's kind of a no win situation. I think what you said at the end of the post is what we'll ultimately need to do. We can't treat Alex like a starter by commitee (though he is). We gotta teach him to play with his heart and not with his mind. Harbaugh has to the leash off, the stat's won't be as pretty he'll throw INTs but this is why we got Moss and Manningham, and I don't want to see Crabtree not getting his due while he's healthy. We need to reutilize play action passes and ditch the shotgun. Alex is a pro and we gotta treat him like it. If he cracks under the pressure we move on and if we win games, we enjoy the victory.
