also...Ive read what fisher said...and none of it sounded like 'jabs' to me.
more like he was saying the truth. he expected less time to be left off till the final drive and wasnt sure what we were trying to do on the toss but it helped them

sounds like the truth and no jabs at all

Oh it's certainly the truth. But usually coaches don't get into that stuff, pointing out the other teams mistakes, they`ll usually just do the "Both teams played hard" deal.

The clock management thing didn't stand out but the "I don't know what they were thinking on that pitch" thing stood out more, kinda like calling the other coach out for fukking up.

The D's novelty, what is novel about allowing 14ppg? Are we running goofy schemes that people haven't seen? What is NOVEL about this defense? Choose your words better.

Sound, you call that defense sound? We have multiple games holding teams under 6 points. we shut down the Saints, Packers and Lions and we lost the Giants game due to Alex having 3 turnovers.

The only truly bad performance from this unit this year was Minnesota and the first half of the Rams game.

Last year all the turnovers carried the defense, to me this team is better this year.. Look at yesterday defense pitched a fukking shutout for 59 minutes on the road.

The defense is better this year than last, just my opinion
:mindblown: the novelty isnt in the stats. you fixate on simple stats like nothing else but get mad when I use advanced stats ? :laff:
the novelty was last year when fangio installed zone and basically backed off from blitzing. also aldon smith and rogers. teams never seen it and we dominated with our scheme. this year teams are containing our pass rush for the most part and are exploiting our weak ass secondary. they gameplan for us.
the rush d is looking down to earth for god knows how many weeks in the row already because teams are engaging and fooling our ILBs with different looks so they cant get off blocks fast enough.

the d is still very good, but we have zero coverage skills one on one. anytime a pass is thrown on sidelines one on one, our corner is usually beat, no matter the guy.

but do the usual ostrich defense and look at simple stats and think our d is dominant and our secondary is underrated because bum qbs keep missing open wrs

Matt Barrows made a good point, Smith being a captain looked real awkward this Sunday. The team votes on appointing captains, and when dude is out there for the coin flip for over time the shyt just looks awkward as hell.

The word novelty was a bad choice. You made it sound like we're doing something tricky/gimmicky for our production. Like we were the Jets circa 2009

I think our defense is actually really fukking simple, we don't send too many people and we get to the QB and stop the run. The defense is doing that pretty well at this point.

I think you ignore a whole lot of shyt to make your point, like you say how the coverage sucks, but just omit the Green Bay game. Like that never happened.

This is the NFL, where coverage is completely discouraged by the league, if you want us to have players blanketed on guys every down in man to man coverage it isn't going to happen.

Yeah novelty was a bad word choice. Zone and aldon smith & los dont make it a novelty defense. Unless the amount of zone and lack of blitzing was at an unfathomable +/- which I dont know if it was but it would have to be pretty ridic to classify it that way.

Plus the D stops the run, nothing novel about that. Unless our complex zones coverage schemes account for that too.

Novel is a terrible word choice.

Our defense is pretty straight forward, it's funny because they have let up a few 100 yard rushers this season but that doesn't mean they're a worse defense, they are worse against the run.

But I`d like people to tell me what defense would you take over the 49ers right now.

I think we're playing better because this year we're getting every teams best effort, we're not surprising people anymore and we still are top 5 in the league in the big categories and we're #1 in PPG allowed.

At the end of the day that is defense for you, the amount of points you let up.

so now its semantics problem ? :heh:

while kaep hsant proven he can come back, he can make a downfield play happen, alex hasnt proven that all year. we havent won a game while being down by 3+ points this year. d faltered against minny, giants- alex panics, fukks up.

again, if you want stats, lets look at third down passing:

kaep 107 qb rating, 65%, 9.5 y/a, 1 td, 0 picks, over 40% conversion rate
alex 95.4 qb rating, 67%, 6.9 y/a, 5tds, 3 picks, 32.8 % conversion rate

fact is when we NEED to pass the ball, kaep is the better choice.

while kaep hsant proven he can come back,
.

Then why act like he can? Why sit here and act like Alex can't and he can?

Kaep couldn't win against the Rams in overtime twice, but now he's gonna come back when we're down against a playoff team? That's a hell of a leap of faith.

Where is the logic, it seems like the sheer fact he can throw a ball past 15 yards is what your banking all your support on. It always leads back to "Well he can make a play down the field"

Like the 2 TD's in the NFC championship game weren't balls down the field.

Just come out and say you personally don't want Smith, don't try to do the spinjobs and state things that have no basis in reality.

if you want to talk about it in your own stats terms, we had come back from being down 3+ points under kaep to 1 tie and 1 win
we havent done that under alex.

and using last year is cheating. I would be very much against kaep with the way alex has been playing last year. this year it doesnt fly anymore. the floor is pretty similar with kaep as it is with alex. the ceiling is much higher. we're converting much better on passing downs.

I agree with you on the ceiling, Kaep will almost certainly be a better player than Smith ever has or will be, but the ceiling is a long way away, it's week 14.

Kaep should send Brooks a gift card for that Saints game, lets be real.

We're converting much better on passing downs, but we're 2-1-1. And yes I put that tie on his record, he played 4 quarters that game.

Once again you seem to lean hard on that 3rd down crutch, pretending like the game doesn't take place on any other down. Like taking a -17 yard sack for a safety is wiped out, because it was on first down.

Where is the explosiveness? The last two games we've scored 17 and 13, is that okay because we converted some a higher percentage of third downs?

look no one said thered be no hiccups. that safety was inexcusable even if it wasnt a safety. but lets be trill here. rams played us hard both games. we were down when alex left that game with our d sucking on first 2 drives.

the lack of explosiveness is in playcalling as well as taems adjusting to kaep. his inexperience as well. all I know is ive seen kaep not do very stupid mistakes with passing much. aside from the safety. if he gets experience Id rather face the giants in offs with him at the helm than alex, thats all I can say. our ST is shyt this year, and d is not playing as well (IMO). we cant play for long FGs and field position anymore.

lets revisit after miami. this game will give us a good look at kaeps progression

You know what man, we're far apart on this shyt, but you're one of the best 49ers fans on here. Been around since the Hamster days and it's fun shooting the shyt with you either way. We're in the same boat, but want different captains, but I think neither of us care if we're able to get to where we have to go.

I respect your fanhood and basically we just differ on opinion, you feel like Kaep will develop in these last 4 games and give us the chance to win it all, I feel his inexperience will cost us at the worst time and i`m more into playing it out conservatively with the experienced vet.

But you state your case well and respectfully, so much respect due. I`m sure we`ll battle it out over 49ers shyt again, but at least you're a genuine 49ers fan and I intend to always keep it respectful towards you.

I`m dying for Aldon to get that sack record. I`d love to unseat that Strahan-Favre debacle of a record.

I`m thinking 1.5 vs. Miami, 0 vs. NE, 1 vs. Seattle and 3 vs. Arizona as a realistic pathway to that record

So no controversy this week

Jim Harbaugh: Colin Kaepernick is starting QB for 49ers - NFL.com

Reading that article that's one thing I love about Harbaugh, he`ll speak so positive about his players, but behind closed doors you know he holds them accountable. I remember an interview with, I think it was Davis, where he said coach holds everybody accountable, if you're screwing up he`ll talk man to man to you, and it wont be ignored in front of the team either.

But he is smart to keep it all positive with the media, he's a politician like that
