The Niners need to have a serious discussion about David Akers. This guy is falling apart right before our eyes. Last year was a good story, but he's missing field goals left and right. The Niners need to AT LEAST bring in another kicker during the week to take a look at and possibly push Akers because he'll possibly cost the Niners a game at some point in time.

There's a shortage of kickers out there.

Quiet as kept Manningham has been one of my favorite pickups this year, I don't know if he's better than Josh Morgan was, but he keeps the chains moving is an effective route runner and his speed allowed us to use him in a variety of lineups.

Yeah him and Crabs have been a good duo, Crab still aint the #1 guy but he is playing a lot better this year.

And according to some Smith held Crabtree back so he should only be getting better down the stretch.

But Manningham has been a tremendous upgrade, he's a reliable play-maker and I hope he sticks around beyond his 2 year deal

That really hurts, Hunter was becoming a baby Frank Gore, man we're lucky to have such depth at RB, all of a sudden.

Yeah, it sucks.

I don't think any of them can replace what Hunter was doing.

LMJ seems to be the most similar type of runner and the most explosive of the 3. I`d like to see him get some burn, but Jacobs is the most reliable.

Read something about the Niners activating Jewell Hampton off the PUP list.

BTW, I feel like we only have 2 possible losses left, do you think 11-4-1 would be good enough to get us into that first round bye?

I don't think it would. I feel like we have to go 4-1 to close out the season to get the bye

Linked to the Boston College job

Greg Roman, San Francisco 49ers offensive coordinator: This was the first job I heard in connection with Roman, though others -- more appealing and lucrative jobs -- have opened in the time since.

and Cal

Greg Roman, San Francisco 49ers offensive coordinator: This might be the most ideal landing spot for Roman, who is working not too far away from the Berkeley campus. Learning from Jim Harbaugh worked well for Shaw. That might be enough for an AD to look Roman's way. The fact that the Niners' offense is suddenly explosive with Colin Kaepernick at QB is a cherry on his resume.
