Have we been watching the same team? What makes you think that the Niners would all of a sudden become conventional in the passing game? Give the coaching staff some credit. If Kaep has to go, they'll do what they have to do to protect him from having to take a 5 step drop, read the defense, and the fire the ball down the field.

It's not about the gameplanning, it's about decision making.

Truth be told I was very pleased with how he played vs. the Rams in the second half with protecting the ball.

I just think as a 2nd year player, vs a hungry/aggressive defense that they would force Kaep into some turnovers due to him not being able to read the defenses being thrown at him.

Smith would be able to read the defense better and limit the turnovers while still finding receivers, I can't see Kaep doing that.

If Kaep has to play i`d want us to run 75% of the time.

This, being an up and down QB means the Bears will feast on errant throws. But he'll also make some big plays that make us go :wow:

To say he is the potential QB of the future is one thing, B90X is saying he is the very obvious QB of the near future.

Why wouldn't Alex fit the bill of QB of the future, he's 28 and he's top 3 in the league in QB rating and and last year he was 9th. He is obviously improved in this system, why couldn't he fit the bill of QB of the future?

Really he is hitting his athletic peak of his late 20's early 30's

because his peak was last year, and even though he has good numbers this year he hasnt really played that well when he needed to step up (most of his gaudy numbers coming against the jets, bills, cards and lions at home). we all know his limitations and he isnt magically going to be more accurate on deep throws or suddenly have more pocket awareness.

at a point where hes our main weakness, it only makes sense to look for an upgrade in the future, and kaep was drafted with that purpose in mind...

This is a lot of gobble gobble turkey, from a jive turkey gobbler.

Last year was his peak, according to who? It's funny last year was his peak but he is playing better this season. How does that work? I love how we close the book on a guys career at 28 years old and that's my beef. I don't stand on one side and Alex is a franchise elite top tier QB whose going to be on this team until he retires, but some of you stand on the other side with this dead-end, closed book mentality of him as a player.

And don't start with that "His good games cam against bad teams" that's every QB. For the most part QB's get stat fat on bum teams. He played pretty damn well to start the season in Green Bay

It's like this, if you don't want the guy, just say you don't want the guy. Don't do the hedging your bets thing, just come out and say you don't want Smith as the QB.

according to me.

he isn't. his only 'playing better this season' if you look at stats without context. last year he was much better. its kinda like dashon playing way better than last year even tho he doesnt have nowhere the fluky ints of last year.

in the games our d and run game dominated, he did well (except seattle)
in the games when it didnt, he didnt do well....

do you disagree with him being the weakest part of the offense at this point ?

you think I have personal agenda because you do. but I dont. I dont care if its diddly poo at qb or brett favre or alex or mark sanchez

as long as they perform.

so logically, when I see someone is a weak link and we might have an upgrade waiting in the wings, in the future...Im interested in exploring that upgrade.

He wasn't better last season. Last season he wasn't as accurate and he wasn't making throws down the field like he is now. Him chemistry with Crabtree was not at the same level, so no, he was not playing better last year.

And about him being the weakest part of the offense, I don't see that being the case. I think the entire offense is very strong the line and RB's are great and the WR's are good. I think his level of play is about on par with the WR's level of play, Good, not great.

yes, yes he was. first of all, he never threw away a game last year like he did against the giants this year. also in no games last year did he look as bad as he did against the hags this year. he came back quite a few times in the clutch. his most impressive throws came last year- throw to delaine against TB, throw to crabs against hags, second game.
none of this happened this year. this year, he is following what defense and run game will give him.

remember, I was all for alex that year ? how I can hate on him when I defended him and the decision to go with him over peyton ? :wtf:
I defended him for that giants offs game as well, although he didnt play great, his play was much better than the media gave him credit for.

this year tho...the GB game is the best one hes had against a legit contender...and even then GBs d is meh

So you want Kaep in?
right now, I dont know. I didnt quite like what I saw from kaep on sunday. him and alex are kinda similar right now. kaep is more indecisive and just like alex holds the ball too long and doesnt read the field well.

all I know is down the road alex is not an answer, while kaep could be. alex is a slightly better kordell stewart to our steelers. we need to find our ben.
