Jacobs wasn't even that good on NY in short situations, but I get the logic with our line and a guy that big, should be easy first downs.

it was a small sample size but jacobs did just fine on short yardage situations in preseason. he should convert those on the regular with this O-line.

we don't absolutely need him now, but we will in december/january. having a big RB with fresh legs will be a huge advantage for us come playoff time.

I just like the depth in general. I never liked Jacobs, living in NY and watching him play for years and his attitude, dude always was a douchebag to me

But he's a 49er now so lets get it, but right now like you said we don't even need him

I wasn't trying to really get at you either man, you been long time 49ers repper on these boards. And I don't think it's blind homerism, because I don't over-rate the talents of the players, i`m not waving some SB 2013 champions flag. I`m very realistic about the 49ers.

I was being a little bit of a pain in the ass with you, the shyt with the niitpicking is you just being a good fan who likes to look more into the game. There's nothing wrong with that at all, I was just coming in here and seeing your comments after wins and letting it get under my skin, that's my bad.

You got the right to criticize and it actually keeps the board better informed on some of our teams weaknesses, I was just trying to bask in the glory of 45-3.

Yeah, but i`m not gonna use pre-season as a barometer for Jacobs.

Anthony Dixon and Glen Coffee have had monster pre-seasons for us before.

I too had some optimism for him though because I feel our run blocking has been superb

yea but dude is over 260, we know nobody else on the roster can get that first down consistently

You know what drives me crazy, why the fukk can't Frank get short yardage?

It drives me nuts, especially in the playoffs when they had him coming out for Dixon. What is the logic behind Frank, a great RB, and why he can get a yard

It's crazy when you think about it, and the funny thing is I don't think he was always that bad on short yardage, just the last few years it really stands out.

I remember he had some fumbling issues on short yardage plays waaay back in the day but not sure besides that.

This is what we brought Jacobs in for though so its whatever. He's another change of pace, its good that we have 3 running backs each with really different styles of attacking the D...just dont want Jacobs taking away too many carries from Kendall.
