Unless you have 4 people living under one roof making 7.25 an hour apiece nobody is living comfortable on that kind of wage.
Come drive these forklifts. My company offering nikkaz starting at 17 an hour. Supply Chain/Logistics industry NEEDS people.

The bold is 100% not true and a pretty outlandish statement. The mere suggestion that our brand of capitalism is somehow better than the China, India, Russia... etc is peak American Exceptionalism, also I cannot get on board with telling people in other nations "Hey our companies/government are going to do awful shyt to your people and your country, y'all need to man up and deal with it." I will never ever cosign some shyt like that simply because we're too fukking lazy to go through the necessary steps to transform our economy into one that benefits us without having to fukk up other people on a global scale. It also ignores the fact that the US government plays a huge role in those companies being able to do that shyt in the first place.
Also enough about the manufacturing stuff, those jobs are never coming back. That's right wing nonsense those people sell to their paste eating base to even believe that's never going to happen, especially considering how different our economy is now.
You don't grasp what's going on in the real world, do you?
If you're a single parent, with 2 kids lets say ..
-You're workin full time (40 hours)
-You got the kids in daycare.
After work, you pick them up and you make them dinner.
Then you sit down for family time.
How is that single parent supposed to 'hone some skills' ?? You're being narrowminded here. Not everyone is 20-25 years old with minimal responsibilities outside of a cell phone bill, that they can just drop everything and go back to school. Or study and pick up a trade. Or any of that shyt you're saying. Some people? Sure. A majority? Naaa. Not in this country.
So this is where you inevitably come back and say some dumb shyt like 'well, you shouldn't have had kids then' or 'no one made you start a family' .. but what you need to understand is that you're in the minority. Period. You're monday morning quarterbacking. Anybody can look at ANY situation and be like 'well, he/she coulda done this differently, or that differently' .. except that aint life.
Something along the lines of 83% of the US population are living paycheck to paycheck. Are you saying they're all fukkin up? Cause thats what it sounds like.
My whole point is you don't have to take that shyt. Force these mufukkaz to pay more. That's all.
Can't blame wages on poor decisions breh, should have strapped up or got that Plan B. Having discipline goes a long way, not everyone is going to succeed or even have a plan, so they have to navigate life the best way they can.
Level up or perish, I didn't make the rules but that is what it is....
I'm not special, all I did was have a plan, common sense, and some discipline, it isn't rocket science....
And many people unfortunately aren't realizing you can't get unemployment if you quit your job. The company has to approve your claim with UI, if they don't approve it, your claim gets rejected. You can appeal it if you want, but you have to show cause as why you are eligible.
So all the people quitting with no plan, no savings, and possible familial obligations are pretty selfish....
Day of reckoning approaches this fall...Free rides are over....
all it boils down to. force their fukkin hand.
exactly

Woooo I hate reading stuff like the part in bold. Unemployment isn't a free ride, it's quite literally your money you pay in taxes to the government being paid back to you in a time of hardship. That's such a right wing way of framing things and boy do I hate Ronald Reagan's ass for getting people to think like this (Welfare Queen nonsense that was explicitly racist towards black people)
Your point is entirely too American focused (by no fault of your own I get it) and dismisses how our brand of capitalism affects people everywhere not just here in a negative way. That's the point I'm trying to make, just because you don't see the carnage doesn't mean it's not happening.
BTW I appreciate the discourse

Best schedule I ever had. Used to do 8a-6p or 6a-4p. M-ThThis is nice, but we really need to be working towards 4 day works weeks, give us the option to work 4 10s

Gotta have a lifeplan before you finish HS....otherwise this is the path for a majority of people...
They should have some kind of financial aid or grants they can apply for depending on what they are going for....
Point is, all this should have been thought about in your teens, not at 20+....

If you get fired, yes you are entitled to it...If you quit, then you are SOL and the fraud charges that come down are on you.....
