Good read, lmao @ the quote

As quickly as we had arrived, we were back on 95 headed for South Beach. X put the hammer down to 140mph. I clicked my seat belt in. "That thing is more likely to kill you than it is to save your life," he offered. I asked why. "Because if I roll this thing, you might not be able to get out,” adding that the buckle might melt and I wouldn't be able to get it undone.

The night ended after police chased us across a causeway and DMX escaped them by exiting into a parking lot, where we sat for the next two hours talking about hip-hop and my New Balance shoes, which DMX found to be highly amusing.
DMX reminded me of Buns, the character he played in Belly. He was a man with no respect for the law, but who wanted to be pious. A man who confronted his demons, but had yet to conquer them.
Yo what?? :russ:

I remember when he was beefin heavy with Ja and Irv Gotti and Murder Inc (I know they squashed it years later but They Want War was vicious). Otherwise who was really gonna try X? Maybe if X was as popular now as he was then, you mighta had the Tekashis of the world poke the bear just to get a reaction but even someone like 50 wasn’t that dumb.

“all the other hard nikkas, they come from Yonkers”
the thing is, even tekashi rockz wit dmx lol
ppl said he sounds like sticky/onyx and he said he was going for the dmx sound

Jet Li showing love. X did two films with him. "Cradle to the Grave" and "Romeo Must Die". X had songs on both soundtracks as well.

DMX: The Ruff Ryder by DMX
they had it show up right wheee the dmx essentials is. Def jam probably hit up Apple n told them make it less noticeable :mjpls:
The track list makes the intent so obvious, shoulda called it “DMX -The Singles Push”.
I know after finding out it was official that he passed my go to joint to reflect on his legacy was “Party Up In Here”:troll:

I was too young to really be deeply impacted by PAC & BIGS death, and I know their situation was obviously different. but I imagine this how people who were old enough must’ve felt. I’ve been sad all day. X just felt immortal, as a kid growing up in the 90s, especially on the east coast.. you just grew up wit him and feel like you kinda been with him along his journey cause hee was so transparent and relatable beyond racial boundaries and the testament of his life.

Cross culturally, this was bigger news. People outside hip hop & black community really didn’t care that prince Philip died, cause he had no emotional or cultural impact esp for Americans period, but I guaranteed they felt sad when they heard that DMX passed.
