Most people on food stamps are working jobs, too. Food stamps are supplementary, both empirically and by design. If they did foster dependence, you'd have to prove it with some stats (though to save you time... stats supporting that argument don't exist.)
Your family not eating if you don't receive food stamps = dependence.
That only applies to very few people on stamps. Again, we're talking about situations where people are already working and still not making enough to eat sufficiently. Not having food stamps in those situations doesn't mean they'd be finding work or food elsewhere.

Spending Foodstamps on food allows your other income to be spent on things like clothes, shelter, food, healthcare
Your family NOT or barely eating if you don't receive food stamps is dependence. They're dependent on those funds to decently eat at best.
Haven't read through the whole thread yet BUT i can assume the type of things behind said just from the comments on this page alone
Ill say this much without going into detail but my new job is for the most part authorizing & denying all type of federal benefits for people and the only thing that separates this country from the rest of the 2nd/3rd world countries is our welfare system. This country without the welfare system we have now would have 10 x 's the crime, corruption , starvation etc rates

it's all by design my nig. and when it's pulled from under us .....
I think there is an belief going around that subsidizing something makes it cheaper...This isn't true.
Not by my computer right now so can't type the response I want but basically the average person on welfare contrary to popular belief is someone who is working a job, paying bills, feeding a child etc, the assistance is just supplemental and there are millions of them on it now what do you think would happen if they were to lose that completely all of them ? You think crime rate, substance abuse wouldn't trend up??
