whatever you do, don't move Horford. Once we're tired of Knuckles Love, we need Atlanta to be by the phone :ninja1:
We ain't trading Horf. We can't use him the way we should with no PnR PG. I wish we had Jennings or Rubio. How about Smith for Rubio and Budinger? :win:

Not even sure LA should attempt that trade anyway, cuz I don't think Josh Smith a better fit for LA.

Don't get me wrong, I like Smith, and at this point, he's a much better player than Gasol. But...

1) You can't make Josh Smith grow. He's like 6'7 in socks. Gasol is a 7th footer. Not many teams can match the Lakers backcourt in terms of size and skill.

2) Josh Smith can often be a low basketball IQ knucklehead and display an array of antics, bad body language and pouting. Not exactly what you want around Dwight or just in general.

3) Also, can you get Josh to understand he needs to stop popping a thousand jumpers and that on that team he's got to be a 12/10 guy?

He's a guy that wants and almost needs a decent role in the offense or he's likely to become moody, yet in general he is often very inefficient and can really fu*k up an offense.

You don't get that problem with Gasol.
Josh ain't no PnR PF and he's has low offensive BBIQ but your defense, PnR defense, and fast break offense will be so trill. You would be much better with Smith than Gasol. Smith defense is really good, to be honest, mainly the reason why the Hawks win games. Gasol is a waste at this point of his career to me. He's too soft to be a Center and his defensive mobility is horrendous. One of the worst PnR defenders in the NBA. He would kill Atlanta for years to come. Josh has his issues but I rather him 10 times more than Gasol. Now Marc Gasol is a Basketball God :noah: . Plays the position the way it should be played.

Lakers fans are retarded sometimes. With Gasol and Horford we will be above average. With Smith and Horford, we are above average. So what's the point other then financial or age which isn't the case. Get a brain or trade us a package with Dwight Howard or NO! Do a three team and get us Rondo. Get us someone we need.

Uh...the Hawks are the definition of average right now - not "above" average.

And I thought Dwight didn't wanna go there...

Naw, above average. We got a really good bench, above average starting unit, and they play hard and as a team.

We have money for two max deals. CP3 and Dwight on board.

didnt read thru the thread at all, but cosign this powerful post

also

i made this remark offhandedly as a joke to my brother @villain while we were watching the hawks vs warriors game, that we should trade josh for gasol

to see it come to life is :wow: time and time again i outdo myself

but it will never happen and the lakers stans in here dikkriding saying they alwayas been josh fans and are excited to see what could come from this, yall need to shut the hell up :laff:

if any of yall have seen josh actually play lately you would realize that aint what the lakers need, a SF that wants the ball as much as bean and chucks up the same jumpers bean does, except they all bricks :wtf:

...But your record is dead even, and you're right in the middle of the East. Your results are average, cuzz.

And again, I thought Dwight made it clear he didn't want to play in Atlanta last season...and why would CP3 wanna leave this situation he's got?

I am not a fan of Josh Smith but I am a fan of his expiring contract and I am not a fan of Pau one iota. Smith contract is my favorite thing about Josh.

I didn't say it was realistic, I said it as a possibility. While Smith for Gasol isn't realistic nor a possibility because it doesn't help the Hawks one bit in the grand scheme of things.
It's more of a possibility than some fairy tale scenario where cp3 and d12 end up in ATL...it was almost done this summer but fell apart because the lakers got greedy and wanted too much for pau in addition to Josh...not because they never wanted him at all

Report: Hawks turned down Pau Gasol - Josh Smith trade due to Lakers' high price - CBSSports.com

One such offer reported a few days ago involved Pau Gasol. On Sunday, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that the reason the deal fell apart was due to the pricetag the Lakers are putting on Pau Gasol.

In addition to Johnson, the Hawks have been open to moving forward Josh Smith though they've resisted offers so far. Apparently the Hawks balked at a potential deal with the Lakers for Pau Gasol because L.A. wanted another major piece to go along with Smith

lol, you believe that. Atlanta hasn't once said they wanted to trade Smith. That was LA doing the yapping.
