every gm should b trying to get the perfect team and the perfect situation

Right, but there's no such thing as perfection. Was Jordan trying to get a dominant center, to match the rest of the pieces he had.

He knew his team had enough talent to win....and was prepared to work for it.

Who doesn't think the Lakers cant win a title as is?

I think Pau/Blake for Josh/Korver is a fair straight up deal, but like everybody said, there is no benefit for ATL. More importantly, Lakers will lose the key player for the pick and pop, we know Kobe ain't runnin' screens :stopitslime: You got Kobe, Artest, and Dwight, Lakers overreacting, let the next 10-15 games play out before you worry about trading for Smith. And if I was trading Pau at all, it would be for Love, not Smith.

I meant to put Jamison in there, not Blake...Hawks have enough guards. But if the Hawks get bigger, they could boss up in the East. We've already seen that's how you beat the best East teams, push 'em around in the post.

Josh a great defender and all, but Pau ain't a slouch defensively either, and he can make those shots Josh can't. If Devin or Lou or someone else gets hot, he can just stay low and get Garbage Man re's. Put his length down there with Horford, and they can all be some basketball playin' muthafuccas. Even better if they can get a dude like Tawn/Twan, who can be a low-post scorer off the bench or else play the 3 if they wanna do a big lineup.

I think the plan for us is to either try to get a big free agent to come here next offseason.

OR(and far more likely)

Start tanking for some of these top prospects that are gonna be coming out in the coming years.

Getting Pau Gasol won't help with either of these.

We aren't trading Josh Smith to the Lakers. We will not trade him for Gasol. How about Smith for Howard. That's a deal I can get behind. We rather just has Smith walk and we just blow it up in for the 2014 NBA draft. Gasol is shyt for us no matter what.

Lakers fans are retarded sometimes. With Gasol and Horford we will be above average. With Smith and Horford, we are above average. So what's the point other then financial or age which isn't the case. Get a brain or trade us a package with Dwight Howard or NO! Do a three team and get us Rondo. Get us someone we need.

whatever you do, don't move Horford. Once we're tired of Knuckles Love, we need Atlanta to be by the phone :ninja1:

They're not. It's just some wet dream Lakers fans have where they think they're trying to stockpile as many Spaniards as possible, more than the 1 they have.

Not even sure LA should attempt that trade anyway, cuz I don't think Josh Smith a better fit for LA.

Don't get me wrong, I like Smith, and at this point, he's a much better player than Gasol. But...

1) You can't make Josh Smith grow. He's like 6'7 in socks. Gasol is a 7th footer. Not many teams can match the Lakers backcourt in terms of size and skill.

2) Josh Smith can often be a low basketball IQ knucklehead and display an array of antics, bad body language and pouting. Not exactly what you want around Dwight or just in general.

3) Also, can you get Josh to understand he needs to stop popping a thousand jumpers and that on that team he's got to be a 12/10 guy?

He's a guy that wants and almost needs a decent role in the offense or he's likely to become moody, yet in general he is often very inefficient and can really fu*k up an offense.

You don't get that problem with Gasol.
