I know this isn't exactly popular opinion, but if I really think about it, Red's best album to me is

First of all, Redman is fantastic. And very much overlooked because the rap game got way too serious (either you were gangsta or blingy or both) as he was getting more comedic and satirical.

He never had that one incredible album but every album up until Malpractice had 3-4 superb cuts that instantly went into "the best of Redman" folder. In a way, I really respect him for that. Most people deliver one great album then fall the fukk off. Redman was consistent for a long time.

The album cuts on his albums were alright but not exactly great. When it comes to album cuts, I prefer the ones on Docs Da Name. There's a lot of great ones: Close Ya Doorz, Da Da Dahhh, Da (fukking!) Goodness, Brick City Mashin, Well All Rite Cha, I Don't Kare and Let da Monkey Out.

I'll Bee Dat is Red at his creative peak. He's hardcore and street like previous albums, but he's mellowed out a little bit and he's funnier. A little more introspective. Warmer personality. I used to love playing "Da Da Dahhh". No previous Redman album had a track like that.

We can have a whole thread about "I'll Bee Dat". Hip hop classic to the 10th degree.
I agree. This was his first platinum album which is crazy. He was really the first consistent rapper. If you think about all the rappers that put out and album in 92 all of them had fallen off by the time Red put out Malpractice

Yep. Reggie dropped the most underrated threepeat of albums ever.

No Muddy Waters love? It was less grimy but was still a solid tape start to end.

Yep. Muddy Waters is my favorite redman album. Dare iZ a Darkside is next.

Yeah man! Absolutely. Erick Sermon is probably the producer I sleep on the most. I never mention him as much as so many other legends, but he and Redman were the perfect combo.

Any word on Muddy Waters 2? I remember Khrysis has some work on there. One of the beats may have dropped on a mixtape, and I know Red had that Muddy Waters 2 prelude mixtape last year. it may have been on there. But I know Red's been talking about the album itself for a long time. I think Khrysis did these beats back when he was doing some more left field/experimental stuff. So I'm pretty sure it was around 2009/2010?

They've been talking about Muddy Waters 2 for years now. Who knows if it will ever drop. I actually own all his albums tho. Even Reggie lol
